Our 14 year old Bosch washer is still going strong, just has a little cosmetic yellowing of the white plastic fascia around the controls. Would definitely buy another.

Great deal, Bosch and John Lewis topped the recent Which awards so can't go wrong really.

A++ rating too.

Fantastic deal!! wish it was around 6 months ago when I needed a washing machine.

Bosch is very good. Mine is quiet enough and economical to run. Love it. Heat added!:p:3X):)

Me too, I bought one only last weekend.

I have the equivalent 7 year old model of this, used at least twice a day and still going strong, only changed the brushes just last year. May consider getting this and donating the old one. Heat added.

Was there a time when Bosch or JL were offering a 5 year guarantee or am i getting confused?

Great price!
But newly made Bosch washers are not the same that old ones were... Then Bosch made washing machines to last and now - to make profit. Logical:whats the point to make washing machine that lasts 20+ years?;better make it to last 2-3 years and customer will be buying a new "reliable" one from Bosch.
Only one Miele still makes washing machines that really last for ages.

Agree. Bosch washing machines used to be made in germany - not anymore

we have one of these. very solid. even the small things, like the hinge- looks like its been machined from a piece of solid billet. compared with our outgoing indesit that looks like it has a hinge from a house door.

Just out of interest, where are they made now? and are there any other washing machines makes which are still made in the Western Europe/Japan/USA?

Thanks OP!

Was going to post this myself.
Looked on JL site yesterday and was going to buy the Classixx 6, but was OOS.

Checked again today and saw this better model for > 10% less.

Don't know if I should fork out the extra 50 for this over the zanussi I've been eyeing up... Curry's have one for 250 that looks good but only one year warranty. JL have a zanussi similar to this at 279 too but 8kg.

I have this model. Paid £400 for it about a year ago. Great washing machine.

For sacrificing the extra kg of weight I'd personally go for the Bosch. and pay the extra £20. They're on in the same league when it comes to the build quality, which is what will ultimately save you money in the long run

Super. Thx

Poland, China, Portugal I believe, with the top end machines still made in Germany.

Miele still make machines in Germany, although I heard they were considering outsourcing them.

There is only one British made machine currently on the market, the Harris Classic. It's a twin tub though, so might not be to everyone's taste.

However, Ebac are planning to open a washing machine in the UK: thisismoney.co.uk/mon…tml

Superb..Quality machine. I should know...50 years in the business.

no wool or delicate's wash. Bit basic. makes you wonder why a super rated Machine would not have these basic functions.

The way I read it is that it has a delicates option instead of Hand wash or Wool option. Perhaps someone who has this machine can confirm either way.

Looking at the image on the JL page, it does have a delicate's and wool option. I have a similar Bosch left by the previous owner of the house, time for a change I think, very tempted...

Inevitable Miele comment already made, surprised it took so long

Why if you have a similar one?

I believe the Exxcel and Logixx ranges are still made in Germany. I certainly hope that's still the case as I plumped up to buy an Exxcel from JL only yesterday.

Looking at the dial, it does have options for "Delicate/Silk" (30 degree wash) and "Wool" (choice of cold or 30 degree wash)

Because it's being delivered on Tuesday...

My washing machine broke down yesterday for the third time this year so this offer came at the right time.
Thanks OP.

Ordered thanks. Look on the JL website it shows a screen shot and you can Zoom into the dial, it shows "Delicate/silk 30*"

Hopefully this will last longer than 3 years as my other washers!!

Looks like it's gone out of stock, for anyone still after one Appliances Online currently have them for the same price (but may change quickly as probably price-matching JL), don't forget 2% Quidco - appliancesonline.co.uk/pro…spx

On line says out of stock, but I went into John Lewis yesterday at cribbs causeway in bristol, they had loads in stock at this price - thanks for the post
