This is a good deal. The Amazon one referred to has 2 x 1.5Ah batteries where the B&Q one has 2 x 2Ah batteries

Great stuff!!! Ordered one today and well pleased - as above - 2ah batteries included rather than 1.5ah like on amazon and 62 pounds rather than amazons 63.74 pounds. Click and collect so picking it up tomorrow after 12:00. Thanks gnans!!! LEGEND!

I been looking drills for a while, Can some one give me some advice on this drill, my old man want a 'professional/powerful' drill as he does works his drill fairly hard when in use but he's not using it daily in his profession so I don't need top of the range drill.

This seems a good higher range drill??

This seems a good deal and probably good enough, but some other options below

This Stanley has similar spec but 3 year warranty and more torque
argos.co.uk/pro…762

or this Hitachi, bit more expensive but two 2.5ah batts and good power.

If your old man pounds his drill i'd recommend a Dewalt, Makita Blue or Bosh Blue proffesional range. A bit more expensive but very good quality and will last for years.

Does the B&Q drill have a hammer function? Picture suggests it does but description doesn't. I'm no expert but I believe combi and hammer drills are different. Personally I'm still waiting for my local Homebase to reduce their Stanley Fatmax drills...could be a while!

Hi erayzer,

A combi drill is a hammer drill - it has a hammer function that can be switched on or off; as well as a torque controlled screw driving function.
Hope that's helps.

This is a good quality DIY grade drill at a good price with 2 x 2Ah batteries. May be worth striking while the offer's still on!

Combi drills

Almost identical to the drill driver, the combi drill has an additional feature that makes them ideal for drilling into harder materials - behind the rotating drill bit two ribbed, metal discs click in and out against each other, pounding the drill bit forward. This functionality makes the versatile combi drill an excellent choice for your home. It effectively makes it two tools in one and means you don't have to buy each separately.

Some of our combi drills have brushless technology. This means that the motor has been constructed in such a way that it means your tool can be more compact, less heat will be generated, and it will be more durable.

thanks for the info gnans
