Really nice bit of kit. Steel gearbox, long lasting battery and plenty of power. Got one from Screwfix for this price earlier in the year and it has been spot on.

Think I have this, but with 3X1.5ah batteries. Great drill, nice and light, used it a fair bit now.

Is it superior to Makita from B&Q

Is it better than Makita HP457D (£100 at B&Q) with x 2: 1.3 Amp batteries. Looking for a reliable heavy use DIY job

Yes in my opinion. The battery much better.

You know what I meant!

Yeah, was this one, paid £70 with 3 much smaller batteries. Perfect for me as I needed something light, but you may prefer the single longer life battery.

The 4ah battery alone is worth over £50, but two batteries is a better idea. Having 4ah can make you cocky if you're not using the drill all day long, and it'll still run out some time when it's least convenient.

It has been £89.00 for thisin the past

On the 6th march i posted this with a 5ah battery and lboxx with charger for £119.00 at Axminster.co.uk . Keep looking around there could be more out there, its a fantastic bit of kit

I built a summer house a few weeks back, the 1.5ah batteries lasted about 2 hours of normal use so I'd expect a 4 to last 4 hours of fairly heavy use? That said my batteries charge in an hour and keep the unit very light, so I'm more than happy. It is a good bit of kit.

Bought one. Thanks

I have one of these, battery lasts ages, great piece of kit!

Is this come with a carry case or a bag ?

For that price should be the proper l boxx....but needs to be confirmed

Is it just me...or is that battery a bit massive? The whole thing looks unwieldy and unbalanced. Is that alone enough to make the 2 x 2.0 Ah version preferable? (I assume those batteries are quite a bit smaller and lighter?)

And why the obsession with 18 volts? I have an old 12v (Nicad) Makita and I can't ever imagine needing more power than the 65 Nm it delivers.
