A good deal regardless, and I have this set thanks to a HUKD post.... Great drill bits!
Bought these to go with my aldi impact driver. Never realised that you shouldn't use ordinary drill bits in an impact driver. Some very useful YouTube videos showing how these differ from a normal combi drill.

Are these the same quality drill bits as the CYL-9 but with a hex shank?
If so then super bargain as the CYL’s are an unbelievable bit that go through virtually anything.

Yes they are the same

Cyl 9 don't require impact hammer like you get on a combi drill as they have a super Sharp cutting edge so you only need rotary, hence suitable for impact drivers

That's a brilliant video, I totally get it now! The Impact driver hammers using rotational blows (like whacking a spanner with a hammer) to give a sort of pulsed torque, whereas the impact or better named hammer drill whacks it from behind like hitting the back of the drill with a hammer whilst drilling into brick.
Bought this on the Screwfix deal for £20. It’s excellent and thoroughly recommend
As these are multipurpose, will they still sharp after they are used on masonry? As will need to do some drilling into tiles and wood afterwards.

They will sty Sharp as have a zero rake cutting edge, don't use hammer action on a combi drill as it wear the cutting edge down quicker.
Been around for 15 years, brilliant drill bits
So should I/could I use these with my Bosch PSB 1800 combi cordless? Thanks.

Yes you could, turn off the hammer action on your psb and they will.last loads longer.
If you do use hammer it won't harm them but it won't drill any quicker.

Yes. So now you can tackle the same materials with your impact driver that you would with the CYL-9 ones in your drill.
So it’s worth me investing in this one?

Are you recommending that these drill bits don't require a hammer drill or a combi drill with hammer function to drill into brick? Planning on putting up some shelves for the Mrs but been waiting on a good deal for a combi drill or hammer drill. Can I use these drill bits in a normal drill for brick? Or do I need an impact driver?
Yes you don't need hammer action on a combi drill.
Because the super Sharp cutting edge they don't require hammer to drill.
