Been after a decent integrated fridge following the demise of our rubbish cheap and not so cheerful Candy. Saw this at John Lewis for £295 with £70 Bosch cashback. Still £348 at Currys (with cashback).

Rated A+ for energy, the Bosch KUR15A50GB integrated fridge simply builds under your work surface for a streamlined effect. It features 3 safety glass shelves, a vegetable drawer and 3 door shelves. In addition, this unit also hosts automatic defrosting capabilities, keeping itself in optimum condition without you having to lift a finger.

And with a daylight bright interior light, you can easily see all of the food in your fridge!

Nice fridge. Has great door storage.

Overpriced and undersized ha, ha

Seems a terrible waste of space at the bottom.
Other manufacturers can tuck away the electrics/compressor at the rear.
The resultant knock on effect is three not very high shelves.

We bought a Hotpoint under-counter larder fridge just last week and it knocks the pants off this.
Much greater capacity and even with the cash back on this, Hotpoint was still nearly £50 cheaper.
The extra large salad tray at bottom can hold a weeks worth of fruit and veg - it on its own, has got to be seen !!

what model was the hotpoint one you got ?

Nearly £50 cheaper? Really? £175? Where?

Here's the thing. It is the lowest priced (with cashback) at John Lewis. It is also the biggest.

Me thinks you talk rubbish.

Currys : Hotpoint RLA 36G £179.00 with free delivery and also free uplift of your olde, one if you've got one.
Said online that it could take several weeks as they were waiting for stock, but it was delivered 5 days later on the Saturday at no extra charge. You could get it for £159 from Boots believe it or not, but they wanted £19.99 for delivery OK if you want advantage points too but they wanted to charge £9.99 for uplift. Better bargain if you don't want your old one uplifted.

Just checked 2 minutes ago Curry's still have deal on for £179.
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/refrigeration/fridges/hotpoint-rla36g-undercounter-fridge-graphite-15050626-pdt.html

If you go direct to currys.co.uk site and search for Hotpoint larder fridges it doesn't come up.
You have to search for Hotpoint RLA 36G
They had the white one last week and it was a same price, don't see it now

gavalln

what model was the hotpoint one you got ?

Hi Gavalln
Hotpoint model is RLA 36G
G stands for Graphite
John Lewis did have it in stock about 3/4 weeks ago but didn't when I bought ours last week.

See my response to Keg above, about Boots.

For anybody else who are interested

http://www.bootskitchenappliances.com/product/RLA36G-Hotpoint-Fridge-Silver-7346.aspx

Still £159.00 but rem. you'll have to add on a delivery charge.
If you're really desperate, they'll give you next day delivery

Ignore the silver in the link- It's really graphite. Same as their picture. A darkish grey colour.

Forgot to add

I went via topcash.co.uk and got another £3 - £4 off price

Errr. That's not integrated. Completely different product.

Oh, I see the dummy is getting thrown out of the pram now.
I also see that John Lewis charge an extra £85 to install.
Presume that means taking off the sticky backed plastic from your existing fridge and refitting it.

My original attempt to save you £50 will now save you £135
Ask your mummy she might help you.

Original Poster

lol. No dummy. No pram. You said better value was available elsewhere. You referred to a different sort of product so I don't accept what you said - I want an integrated fridge. Chill. Like a fridge.

Oh, and you don't need to pay JL to install. I thought that was obvious.

I agree that you don't need to pay JL to install. That's basic install.
I didn't need to pay Curry's anything for that as all they would do is plug it in and push the beastie into the vacant slot waiting for it. Which I did. In under counter fridges they don't charge but I didn't want them plodding through the house.
In your case JL says that if you WANT them to install they will, which I presume will be the same same as curry's, but they then add - for integrated, they will charge £85. This I presume is because of the facing.
They quite categorically say that the white one on display model is an extra [above quoted price].
If you've already got the kit and are handy you will probably manage - otherwise it's an arm & a leg to get someone to do it for you.
Don't let them charge you more than £85 pound though JL will do that for you.

At the end of the day [ not today :-) ] tell me what the total bill was. I most definitely promise not to laugh.

Good thing I presume for you [I think] is JL might give you 2 years guarantee free.
I only get manufacturers standard 1 year, but that doesn't worry me as over past 51 years this was 4th fridge - all Hotpoints.
I wrote to them after 34 years to thank them for my first one. 2nd & 3rd ones weren't of same quality. Between them only lasting 17 years.

Original Poster

It's not the same sort of product! One is integrated, one is under-counter. Integrated are more - and usually much more.

£225 is total bill. I'm useless at DIY but I'm sure I can slot it into the space and plug it in. Then attach the door. Not rocket science.

And yes, 2 years guarantee. Doubled with my credit card.

Good luck when it arrives.
Told you I wouldn't laugh.

Original Poster

Why would I need luck? It's a fridge for crying out loud backed up by JL's superb customer service.

Yikes, I have to attach a panel to the door not build an aircraft carrier.

You sound ridiculous banging on like a school boy.
In fact your mummy should tan your hide and make sure you get there.

Your maturity is absolutely overwhelming.

As others have said, that is a different sort of appliance.

Cracking price for a great brand.

Thanks for your comment.

Some of the other comments have repeatably told me that it was different to the point of being absurd.
The little blighter is still sending messages, from school now.

From what I can see, it is you that is calling names and being a bit OTT after getting it wrong. Just my opinion but reckon you should let it drop now.

It's what normal people call an alternative.
As I've said umpteen times I DO know it's different, the chappie with the screwdriver keeps telling me. I've agreed so many times.
The object of my initial comment was to point out that there is cheaper alternatives out there.
Especially against this badly designed Bosch

You can't seem to let this drop. I didn't think it was an alternative as the Bosch is integrated and the HP isn't.

I think you also need to do a bit more research about Bosch. I have a fridge very similar to this one which I see won Which Best Buy and is very highly rated.

Anyway, as I said before, why don't you just drop it now?

JonD

All you're doing is repeating what was said before blah, blah.
If you too don't have anything different to say why don't YOU butt out.
I'm not in the least bit interested in your SIMILAR fridge, which doesn't even come into the equation, so why mention it.

I gave you my view which I am perfectly entitled to do. I also gave my experience of having a very similar integrated fridge and the fact that I found it very good. I also said that the particular on in the deal won a Which? Best Buy. None of that has been mentioned before.

You may not be interested but for others it my well help. You are coming across as a really angry person all over a fridge.

Again, drop it.

Think you are the angry person here.
In my previous response I was going to compliment you on your spelling, punctuation etc. Glad I waited.
I see the red veil has come down now and your standards have slipped - sure sign of rage.
Chill out is best advice, before coming back.

Your repeating yourself again about this "similar" fridge you're supposed to have.
You didn't mention before that it was integrated. You obviously think this will make a difference to somebody. I doubt it will.
You'll be telling me it's the same colour next.

Does your "similar" box have the extra large capacity door shelf for bottles etc, which intrudes into the fridge space causing you to lose storage capacity for other items on the main bottom shelf??

Crikey. Price has gone up anyway so expired.

Get a life.

Never noticed. Anyway no doubt there will probably be some people who will imagine they're getting a bargain at the new inflated price. They are the sad blinkered people.
I see you couldn't answer my tough shelf question from previous.

I've got a good happy life, thank you. Maybe you will too one day - but it might take some time.

Bye
