This is about the same cost as the difference between a Trek Rail 5 500 and 625 model. You could buy this and have two batteries. I believe there are adapters on etsy that make the 500 the same length as the 625 so you can use both with the same mounts.

Yes I have the adapter for my old 500 battery so it will fit in the gap for the new 625. I bought one of these 625's this week! (edited)

Wow on the merlin page it says the RRP is close to £800 for these. For a high quality standard ebike battery for non-proprietary ebikes I reckon you would pay £300-350 for such a battery capacity. For a Bosch battery this is actually very decent value I guess.

Bosch is like Apple for pricing. At least is has decent capacity, so good value fo Bosch

I have come to the conclusion that the £400 Nexus 7 Schiano 468wh ebike, bought in the Amazon giveaway sale is very close to the Bosch bikes in practice. The 7 suffers in inefficiency but is still more versatile than the hub gear in say, the £2000 Vanmoof X3 used by James May.

With the 7 hub, you can find it for £750. With a 7 speed derailleur instead, it appears to be £700.
