Have a similar one (PSR 10,8 Li) for about 18months and have to say it's been a pleasure to use - highly recommended at this price

Very useful piece of kit to have around, and a very Good price.

Going round in circles with these: volts, torque, NiCD,LiOn

Thought I was looking for a drill / driver but this is under the hammer drill section. oO

PS. Have reserved one anyway.

10.8 volts hammer drill ?? OK for hammering into cheese maybe.
This would be more use as an electric screwdriver capable of very light drilling work.

tbh I think that's what I'm after. Don't trust cordless hammer drills ( use my 1990's B&D for that). But light drilling and screwing is what I'm looking for

Yeah a screwdriver and light work. For cordless hammer when there is no power you'll want something a bit more beefy. I have a 36 volt Bosch SDS for that. Very expensive but as good as a 2kw SDS

is this hammer drill + impact driver ?

is this hammer drill + impact driver ?

I think so by looking at the shifter on the drill

Nice.! I just bought one.!

could be tempted

It's defo not an impact driver

Just checked on Bosch website by model number. It apparently does have impact driver mode. So this is exactly what I'm looking for then. I could not find anything with Hammer drill and impact driver together before. Anyone who use this before could confirm it ?

Of course this is very weak for professional or hard core DIY people.

It DOESNT have an Impact Driver setting.
The website says it has Impact Drill setting - which is another way of saying hammer drill.

"An impact driver is a manual or power tool that delivers a strong, sudden rotational and downward force." - Wikipedia

A normal drill/screwdriver spins the chuck with whatever torque the motor/batteries can manage.
A hammer drill does the same but on a cam (or maybe sawtooth gear I'm not really sure) to provide the hammer action.
An impact drill spins up to a high speed before engaging the chuck in a one-time burst of high torque. It then spins up again and repeats as long as you need. This is useful for releasing, for example, overly tightened car wheel nuts.

wheres my mate qyestionmark , he seems to know his stuff

Reserved in store, but not sure whether to buy yet.

Went for the plunge and bought this. Feels solid and looks like it it will do the job with screws

Also spent extra tenner to get £10 free with b&q club

i ordered this for R&C today at the £39.98 price. Went through at the £49.98 price at the till in Southampton but the shop assistant took £10 off as I had the email proof. Good on her.

I think I bought one of the last ones at the deal price. I have today rebuilt my wooden garden gate (damaged in the storms) with it and found it superb to use. light and amazingly powerful for the small power unit it has. I tried the hammer drill too and a 6mm bit went into brick with no problems. It would no doubt be to lightweight for professional daily use but for DIY projects it is ideal.

Really pleased with mine, great build quality and easy to use. Many thanks
