I've been to my local B&Q and none in stock only an Hitachi with similar spec for £89 on offer.
I left it as I would prefer the Bosch.

There were about 20 in Stock in the Dartford B&Q, I don't know if youc an do Reserve and Collect.
I actually returned the Hitachi one, the Bosch was is a better sound brand and has a few more nice things like handle and depth gauge.

WhaT 10% discount card would that be mate?

It's the one you got during the 20% promotion a while back (April 9-12). It gived you 10% off until May 31st.

If you missed it then I guarantee there will be a few 10%/15%/20% days in future especially around the next Bank Holiday (May 30th). They have had about 4 distinct promotions of this type in the last 3-4 weeks.

Of course if you can get someone over 60 on the right day (Wednesday?) then you can get 10% off anyway

got this drill last time on offer, good bit of kit only 10mm chuck tho

Cracking!

Was just about to buy one of these from Amazon with only one battery, and £4 more expensive!

If anyone is interested there is stock in the Loughborough B&Q.

Full info.

Far superior to the recently posted Hitachi. Although it only has a 10mm chuck, in my experience the only time you really need a 13mm chuck is when you're drilling larger holes in metal. The two piece chuck on the hitachi is very poor quality compared to the very nice one piece chuck of the bosch. You need two hands to tighten a two piece chuck and that's just a bit fiddly and awkward unless you've got small hands. The Bosch also has a battery level indicator on the drill and has a higher top speed of 1650rpm as opposed to the hitachi which is 1500rpm. The max torque figure of the Bosch is 48 Nm compared to the Hitachi's 43 Nm.

BTW, if you're drilling lots of holes in masonry, buy yourself an SDS drill, you won't regret it.

The offer I saw in store was 99 for the drill plus an accessory kit while did say 84 for the drill but implied you had to buy both
Think I will return the hitachi - it just does not feel as well made

I bought the Drill on it's own for £84 (then used my 10% discount card)...I think the drill acc is just an added extra though I've seen it in Robert Dyas for £14.99.
So you can buy the Drill for £84.
Stock in Crawley BTW>

Personally I'd take Hitachi over Bosch any day, but I suppose it's all down to individual choice.

You also obviously haven't tested and had a good look at both drills.

This model of bosch drill is way ahead of the discussed hitachi model but some folks are completely fooled and taken in by product branding.

Just bought from the Leicester branch. 84 quid and further 10% off with a voucher. Just to see how it plays.

Hi,
What voucher did you use for 10% off? The only one I've found is the one on MSE which you get for all subsequent purchases AFTER spending £50.

Thanks,

Chris
PS - did they have many left in stock in Leicester branch?

Might have been the one they gave out in April, otherwise grab a grannie on Wednesday :-)

I'd recommend finding the model in question and asking a member of staff to scan it through their system for the actual price as some stores may have their normal price @£149.99 or so displayed. I couldn't find this displayed anywhere in the store at the posted price but saw them on the shelves priced at their normal price. It doesn't hurt to ask

It is a great drill btw, just don't fully rely on the advertised battery thermal protection. If you're working the drill too hard and it gets hot... let it cool down before continuing (remember it's still only an 18V cordless!). The battery protection i think is in place to protect the batteries - not the drill and it's gears.
