Induction or gas? Whats better
I would say induction - nearly as quick and so so easy to clean up after. Also with kids in the house you have a lot less heat to worry about (very quick cool down of the hob)

Induction can be very good indeed if the power outputs of the hob are well designed. (gentle simmering is impossible on some). As already mentioned, incredibly easy to clean. Requires compatible pans which can be more expensive. Can be run from renewable electricity which can't be said for gas. Also, is a dry source of heat as opposed to gas where water vapour is produced as part of the combustion so if you have damp mould problems there's an advantage there too if you have a recirculating hood as opposed to an extractor. In addition to this they are arguably safer as they switch off when the pan is taken away.

The only thing that puts me off is the digital controls. Call me old school but I like a good old fashioned knob. You know where you stand with a knob.

Pans included in this offer - the test to do with your current ones is to test with a magnet. If they are magnetic then they will work just fine.
