Bosch Rotak 37 Ergoflex Electric Rotary Lawnmower £99.99 @ Amazon.co.uk

I was searching for a new mower and was looking at a Bosch as I've had one before. I've noticed comments on here saying that the Rotaks vary in quality with the black grilled Rotak being the superior in comparison to the green grilled.
Not a bad price for this I think delivered from Amazon. I've just bought it so I hope this helps someone else out who's searching for one.

Yes you are right, these should be made in uk, others in China, these are far better
I bought this very one last year, was a bit cheaper on a lightning deal, not sure if it will go down further I paid 87 , it's very good mower
This is the Chinese one. Following great experience with an earlier type I foolishly bought one of these last year and am now on my second. Paid around £85 in Homebase. Absolutely hopeless! I thought the first was faulty but it seems they are all like that. Look fairly similar to the earlier type but with fancier handles (which are actually more difficult to use - poor ergonomics despite the name). Lacks power (though same 1400W rating), doesn't pick up all the grass if damp (unlike earlier type), shorter lead, etc., etc.

Bosch don't respond to email or phone calls.

I have lots of excellent Bosch stuff in my house, including the central heating boiler, but this is really letting the brand down.

Sadly these are best avoided now. Not sure what's better these days though. I'd prefer my old Bosch back.
Very good mowers in my experience. I got my first about 6 years ago after the flymo died and it's still going strong but I just bought a larger one (the 43) after moving house and getting a bigger garden. Pleased with both.
I thought the UK models were the 40 range and the Chinese were the 30 range.

Are you sure it's this model or the Ergoflex 37-14? As that usually retails for £85 on sale. As Ive read some reviews on that model and it sounds like you're describing that one. There's a review on Amazon (written by AllAboutMe), it's one of the top rated reviews, where he comments on buying both this model and the 37-14. He's quite thorough in detail and describes the 37-14 as having a short cable, inferior build quality etc but the model above is excellent in contrast.

Hopefully it'll do the job for me anyhow, I've got a medium sized garden that's fairly flat, but thanks for the info.
I have a small garden and looking for a small lawnmower. Any suggestion for good lawnmower?
I have looked at Bosch Rotak 32R, but not sure of the quality as I have seen mixed reviews.
This is definitely the UK one as i have checked my Amazon order history and this is the one i bought last year, made in UK just checked the label

I did get the cheaper Chinese 36R one and sent it back but this is way better, cuts damp grass with ease and sucks up the majority of the grass

I recently bought the Qualcast cordless 24v mower for around £110 from argos, I really like it and the price seems to fluctuate quite a bit so it will probably be around that price again soon
Would prefer Rotak 40.
I believe the R models are Chinese.
I have Rotak 34 (uk made, 1400w motor). The 34R is 1300w and made in china. Had to explain this to staff in Homebase who tried to convince me they were the same.
I bought a bosch mower last year, can't remember the precise model but it's garbage. Doesn't cut very well, poorly designed, difficult to manoeuvre. As someone above stated bosch brand is usually excellent but I've been disappointed with my mower.

I recently got the 34R from Amazon and it's pretty good apart from the crappy plastic grass box. It's very powerful, shreds up the grass finely and picks up every bit even when damp.

It's pretty heavy and clumsy to manoeuvre compared with a Flymo but the cut is much better.

This is the regular price - why is it a deal?

I have the previous version in 34", and it seems ok. Motor is quite powerful, the case a bit flimsy, but it is rather quiet and overall a nice mower.

Can you post a link to where else sells this for £99.99 please? I was just about to buy it from Amazon at £139.99 when within seconds it changed to £99.99. I think it's usually around £139.99. The green grilled Chinese Rotak 37 is usually sub £99 but this is the UK black grilled model. Cheers.
Great mower, got the 43 for £85 from Amazon 2 or 3 years ago.
Seems a good price. I have recently been considering the Wolf-Garten A340E or A370E. Amazon don't seem to send the cable with the Wolf-Garten products (maybe an oversight?). Argos and elsewhere advertise them as coming with cables.

Wolf-Garten A340E is £94.99 from Argos (online) and has a 3 year warranty.

That one doesn't appear to have a roller and 15m is a short cable.

This is getting complicated now!
Was in B&Q yesterday after writing that and there was a Bosch rep with the mowers. I tackled him about my disappointing experience. According to him the 34 and 37 models are made in China, the 40 and Li-ion models in UK. That was certainly true of the stock in B&Q and the Chinese ones were all green whereas the UK ones had the black cowl. So, the one you've posted may well be a UK one but isn't in retail stock. Could Amazon be selling some older (and better) ones or are there really both UK and Chinese 37 ones out there?

Rep was also trying to explain that the (UK built) 40 had some kind of new drive/motor system. This is where they go wrong - when they have something good they won't leave it alone! Flymo were the same: early simple ones were really good but they kept adding 'features' and the later ones could barely lift themselves off the ground.

I got mine about a year ago, if i recall B&Q had models exclusive to them this could be a Amazon exclusive , i can 100% guarantee the one i got is made in UK and it was this one linked to from Amazon as it says i bought it on the webpage and has the black trim and the motor is way better than the Chinese one i sent back
Has anyone received one of these from a recent Amazon purchase? Is it the black grill version and where does it say it is made?
Hi. I ordered this on Sunday. It got delivered today. Iv just cut the lawn and very happy with it. Im only comparing it to a small Flymo I had b4 but it blows that out of the water. It's a black grill and says made made the UK on the box. Hope this helps and thanks to the original poster.
I've received mine today and can confirm its the UK model also, no problem ktombling
I decided to order this model as well as the multi mulch accessory (currently £12.99) as others have confirmed the mower is a black grill UK version.
Had a Rotak 43 (on offer) and the motor burnt out after 15 months (£130 down the pan). Then bought a Rotak 37 and the same thing happened after 7 months. Full refund this time, but wouldn't touch these with a barge pole!
