This is the time of year for car batteries to fail get yourself a replacement from a reputable company, these are over £65.00 @ Halfords and you have to collect it yourself. My current battery is a Bosch its been on my car for coming up to six years and its still going strong.

Actually cheaper from Main site using BRISK25 discount code.

Bought one of these for my merc a few weeks ago from them but at 60. Cracking battery and fantastic price. It is very large and heavy though so just be aware of where it's going. Mercedes are under back seat so wasn't an issue

Might get 1 for my Bentley

Cheap price for a quality branded battery........HOT

really good price but only 44ah so not any good for larger engine cars.

For anyone not able to use this deal due to specific battery, I can recommend carparts4less.co.uk using code SAVE5 (I think) or CP5LESS if spending over £50, CP10LESS over £75 and CP15LESS over £100.

Yep they are essentially the same company as Eurocarparts, use the same warehouse and stock codes, but don't have a branch network. So when you find a part copy the stock code from Eurocarparts into their website and it often ends up cheaper.

ive had my bosch battery now for 8 years they are superb powerhouses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a great price for this battery but batteries aren't 'universal fit' as seems to be implied in this and other posts. Also, free delivery is amazing on such an item but be cautious of the courier (poor reputation) and conditions:

"All deliveries are made by our courier, Yodel, and will require a signature. Deliveries take place between the hours of 7am to 9pm. The courier will try and deliver the item twice before returning the item to us. Please ensure someone is present to sign for the item. Should the item be returned to us we will have to charge for re-delivery."

Still hot if it suits though!

My Halfords battery has failed the last 3 winters in a row - each time it got replaced under the 3 year warranty. It'll probably fail again in January, but there's no warranty left - I'll not be getting another Halfords battery, that's for sure.

I wouldn't get anything other than Bosch or Varta and certainly wouldn't be getting it from Halfords. For example on my old Bora 1.9 it is £117 from Halfrauds for a Bosch Silver S5 and the same battery is £77.35 at ECP! My ECP is also nearer to my home and they offer free delivery anyway for a cool £40 saving.

No problem, wish a battery for my cars was only £31.75!

Also didn't realise they did quidco! Will be getting all my future orders delivered I think.

Cracking deal and also very handy code. Thanks both.

Since when did ALL PA & PH postcodes justify an additional £8 delivery charge? Some geography lessons required methinks.

well i guess it wont fit my car, its to fat

Hyundai i10 only needs a Bosch 054 which is £37.75, yet this 063 with more power is £31.75!

Why? nothing would happen.

It's a good time to get a spare but store it properly if you are not going to use it straight away.

Branded doesn't necessarily mean better by the way. I bought a battery from this place a while ago: advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk. They may look like you've never heard of them but their batteries are exactly the same product as some big brands with a different label. I'm sure anybody who understands cars knows this anyway but it's the same with a lot of branded car products like oil etc. and in some cases, branded stuff (oil for instance) is not as good! The reason I pointed out that website is that they sell a lot of specialised size batteries for anybody who can't find the type they are after elsewhere but the prices are good for specialised stuff.

The 054 is quite a small and tall battery with skinny battery terminals. They are often fitted to Japanese/Korean cars only.

Depends on your engine/vehicle. An 065 or 075 is more likely to do the job - vehicle specific though.

Halfords batteries are much lighter in weight than other good capacity batteries of the same size. AVOID

Depends whose 2.o diesel. Japanese and Vauxhaull diesels need much higher capacity batteries than most of the other mainstream makes (Ford and the Frenchies)

Either way, I acnt think of any diesel car this battery will work resonably in.

But if you have a halfords trade card (which I appreciate not everybody does) it can work out cheaper - the last time I bought a Bosch S5 battery, Halfords was the cheapest I could find it (after discount) - and ECP were offering discount at the time too.

The S4 batteries do seem to be a cracking price at the moment from ECP though.

Why all the debate about 'will it do x, will it fit y'? Unless you're into bodging your car needs the battery it needs!

This is a great deal IF it's the right battery for your car.

If you go to the Eurocarparts website and input your registration number you will see the battery listed for your specific model of car.
