Powerful cooking
The PKN811D17E features four zones which provide powerful and responsive heating. Electromagnets under the hob surface heat the pan directly, which means less energy is wasted and heat control is almost instantaneous.

Since only the pan is heated, spillages won't get burned onto the surface, making it much easier to keep clean.

Each of the four zones has 17 power levels, easily controlled using the TouchSelect front-mounted touch controls.

Extending your space
Using the touch sensor on the hob, you'll be able to extend one of the heating zones to get even more from your hob. This extendable cooking zone helps you to cater for larger cookware such as roasting pans and fish kettles.

Making your kitchen safer
You won't need to worry about little fingers causing trouble thanks to the ChildLock on the PKN811D17E Hob. This locks the control panel and helps to prevent the settings being changed.

It also includes a safety switch off which uses a timer to prevent your hob from being left on.

Cook any meal quickly and easily when you use the efficient, modern Bosch Serie 4 Classixx PKN811D17E Ceramic Hob.

Doesn't indicate its half price when you see it on the website... Are you sure it isn't just half price installation?
Google it and it does look like a lot cheaper than anywhere else
Is this an induction hob?
Over £700 at I'm giving this some heat, as i need a new hob
A nice size and price, but this does not look like an induction hob for those that are wondering.

Is the one at AO the same model (ceramic and not induction)?

Says electromagnetic in the description?…17E

no mention of induction or magnetics on the bosch website. bosch website says "Type of heating element Radiant heating" never heard of a ceramic being an induction either.

Doesn't electro mangetic imply induction?
I have one of like this but after cooking lot of discolouration on the black ..can I repaint on it
Bit of a long shot but wondering if someone would help - as it's the same manufacturer/a similar item (more or less).

A friend of mine purchased this Bosch NKC845 F17 Hob from Amazon UK…2ES and it turned out to be German.

Description says "Power connected (Electric): 7600 W
Input Voltage: AC: 220-240 V
Input frequency: 50/60 Hz."

and apparently it is a 3 phase supply (thread about this same model here)…tml

Is it possible to connect this to a UK power supply?

Seems weird its so much more expensive than the standard sized models at around £200 (e.g. ebay PKE611D17E). Annoying they took the numbers off the controls and now just have +/- which has gotta be slower to use. If the controls were at the side I think it would be better cause its really annoying when water drops on them and they are unusable until wiped and dried.
