I know this may be a controversial one, but it may help some.

But I have been looking for a decent Bosch Tassimo for a while, I know there have been deals for the cheaper vivy model at £35.

But this one is 2 up from that in the range and this is the cheapest I can find the Joy 2 model at, a slight modification from the Joy 1.

Most are still retailing them at £129.99, so this is a bargain and with Legendary John Lewis 2 year warranty.

I have ordered mine to collect in store tomorrow

Each to their own. There is certainly nothing nasty about the Vivy, it is worth a lot more than £35 and makes the same good drinks. Think before you start upsetting people.

Dramatic much?

Read the post a few times and i'm struggling to find where op said the Vivy was nasty? He has made his own decision on what he prefers, has saved nearly half the price and had shared the saving with others that may benefit. I have a Vivy that I love for the convenience and a decent cuppa. But I also have a Krups for when I want a really decent cuppa where I grind my own blend of fresh beans. Takes time though. Good deal +heat

As a Vivvy owner the OP has greatly offended me. Basically saying we are cheapskates for buying the cheaper version

FYI the Vivvy comes with a manufacturers 2 year guarantee so stick your legendary John Lewis warranty where the sun don't shine.

It's going to be hand bags at dawn with incendiary comments like that! :-)

Good price. Have some heat

Is the end result any different?
What exactly are you paying extra for?

As far as I can tell, the only real difference between the Tassimo machines is the size of the water reservoir!

The Vivy is 0.7l (2-3 Costa Lattes), the Joy/Amia is 1.5l and the Fidelia/T40 is 2l.

Personally, I would wait for the next deal on the Fidelia to come around.

The side mounted water tank on the vivy is convenient. It only holds 2-3 drunks tho.

I have a vivvy and although makes a nice coffee you are limited to the size of latte glass that fits under it.

I recently got one of these (new kitchen, old T40 didn't match so was a good excuse!).
I paid £75 from currys - I had some currys vouchers gathering dust too.
I went for this over the Vivvy for 4 reasons
1. Bigger Tank (this was the main reason)
2. Looks a bit better / more premium
3. Contains a brita water filter
4. Easier to accommodate different cup sizes
Other people might have different values / requirements
I'm really happy with mine! HTH

The new model joy I purchased last week from Cosco with £35 off costing £52

Only half my comment shown?? The above offer in Cosco also gives 2x£10 vouchers to spend on tassimo pods from Bosch , not sure how long they are reduced for but I know coscos offers renew this sunday ,well worth £52 of anyone's money and extra large water tank

Have you tried it without the drip tray in place?

Probably not, unless they're using a Vase.

Hi, I am very interested in buying this coffee machine and whilst checking out different stores John Lewis appear to have the best deal. However, noticed that the John Lewis one is only 0.8ltrs in tank capacity and others for sale in Argos and currys are either 1.4ltrs or 1.2ltrs, do you think that's why John Lewis are selling this model cheaper? Advice would be great. I'm kicking myself as should have bought this when on offer in currys as it was a great deal albeit the Joy1. Thanks

As long as the model number starts TAS45**GB it is the Joy 2 and is 1.4l tank, the listing may be copied from other models without checking the spec, the joy 1 is TAS43**GB and has a perfectly round button rather than the not quite so round one on the joy 2

Similar reasons, it looked much better than the RED Vivvy (I wanted RED) got if for £65 at currys in sale when Vivvy was £35.
