Designed to be compact and powerful, the Tassimo Vivy utilises intelligent barcode technology to ensure the optimal drink quality every time. Bosch's Intellibrew systemidentifies the drink selected and adjusts the water, temperature and brewing time accordingly to deliver all of your coffee shop favourites at the touch of a button.

A 5 LED light interface keeps you up to date with machine's statue, letting you know exactly when the water tank needs refilling or when a machine requires a descale. The removable 0.7 litre water tank combines with Flow Heater Technology to ensure almost no heat up time, making the machine ready to brew drinks when you are.

An automatic cleaning and descale program makes looking after your Bosch machine easier than ever. There are over 35 different varieties of drinks available including espresso, latte, cappuccino, teas and hot chocolate.

Nice price.

Looks good. Can you use any generic ESE type pods? Bit worried cos it says it needs to read the barcode on the Tassimo packs, and presumably the cheaper generic type won't have the barcode.

Has to be Tassimo pods

takes too long if you just want to make cups of tea, for coffee i suppose its a good deal

I would never use it for tea or hot chocolate (better pour water over a tea bag or chocolate powder). But I love my hassle free (which means my hubby can do it for me) cup of coffee from this machine. Can't get enough of it Although I do agree that it is not the best solution for everyone. If you have no time like me (work, house, children, garden...) and you are the only coffee drinker then it is a solution for you.

What's the best machine that people can recommend if I wanted to use any brand pods ?

What are they generic pods, never heard of them.

It's a good deal, you can get pods for about 25p, the coffee ones are decent value but the hot chocolate less so, I think suchards are the best value at about 25p each for a decent cup, but the others are double that. I wouldn't even consider a pod of tea.

Hot for price. Ice cold for the drinks it makes-yuk!

I'd say nespresso as seems to be a large selection of aftermarket pods in most supermarkets and online. But only coffee not hot chocolate or tea options .

no such thing as a vivy 2
this is a nonupgrade to vivy

Why would you want to make cups of tea for coffee? These are faster than boiling a kettle for 1 cup of Tea / Coffee granted if making 43 or more drink this might be slower? But you wont make IE costa coffee from a kettle!

Great machine with loads of choice of drinks

£34 at argos

£35 at Currys too, but available in white as well as black.

Thought as much. "intelligent barcode technology" = "attempt to lock out the competition". Like a printer, you don't buy it - you rent it.

I have the Suny which is the next size up, it will only just got a Latte glass in it for a drink and normally submerges the spout.

This is good for Americano, espresso and cappuccino. If you want Latte or mocha, it will be too small.

Thanks. Ordered.

It's now £34 from Amazon, so an even better deal.

Thanks, have updated

Is it a lot more expensive making coffee with this (due to the price of the pods) than using the old conventional way, boil kettle?

On a cup vs cup price it is yeah but tastes better

I think it depends on how you want coffee, I mean its not as cheap as instant but if you want an americano with real coffee, and only one cup, I imagine its a lot less labour intensive and cheaper on the electric than making a filter cofee

i really like the twinnings tea pods, real leaves and taste like proper cup of tea, don't use the machine for every cup of tea but nice for a weekend treat, i'm the only one in my house to drink coffee and wanted something hassle free, have the vivy, like it being compact.

You do know that you can remove the raised cup stand so that you can use larger glasses on this model don't you?

anyone know what the difference is between this and the TAS1202GB
