Thanks for the post. Ours seems to be on the blink. £35 at John Lewis with 2 year guarantee : johnlewis.com/bos…303

Couldn't agree more bought one of these last year and haven't had a single dried coffee since cracking price for a simple and effective machine every coffee lover should have.

Heat added

Oos at JL shame cracking deal :-(

I have this machine and can fully recommend it. For this price it's an absolute steal! Heat applied for this hot appliance.

Can't recommend this model enough nice and compact, enough to make to coffees, my favourite is the hot chocolate then I add an expresso shot in it. Drink is always nice and hot as well

Where's the best place to get the capsules? Never had a machine before and believe they can work out expensive

I tend to find Amazon is your best bet, as they work out alot cheaper than the supermarkets or even Tassimo's own website.

Just a thought if you really want good coffee at a reasonable price - forget these pod machines and buy a machine that uses real coffee beans.

The capital outlay will be higher but the longer-term savings will be enormous.

I do wish I'd done that rather than buying one of these, but the machines do cost a fortune from what I've seen. never been that impressed with the taste of tassimo coffee's, the Mrs loves them tho!

I have the T43 machine and it's brill. It replaced my much more expensive Nespresso machine which is getting sold on eBay.
Amazon prices for pods seem more expensive than the supermarket though. Try eBay.

This one, perhaps? Well reviewed at £250 on Amazon, but there are others, of course:

They're really good. Had a similar one but they are such an **** on to clean, that's why I switched to Nespresso and then to Tassimo.

You'll get a voucher when you register your machine on the Tassimo site, other than that it varies between Amazon eBay and the supermarkets. Tesco have some good deals at the moment.

The benefit of the likes of Tassimo etc is that it's one machine that can do teas, hot chocolate, coffee, lattes etc. I'm not sure that many people will really be deciding between a £35 Tassimo and a £250 fully-fledged coffee machine.

As for buying the discs, you can usually find offers on somewhere. Follow Tassimo UK on Facebook or subscribe to their newsletter and you'll get told when they're running discount codes.

Not a pain at all to clean! I find a daily wipe does the job nicely. I descale every few months which is an easy enough job to do. Whats difficult about that?

Great deal OP. Have some heat. Love my daily Costa Americano Coffee

The cleaning comment was in reference to the bean to cup machine not the tassimo.

I have a Bosch tassimo similar to this,
but it's been gathering dust since I bought this ,- amazon.co.uk/gp/…1_2?qid=1429950739&sr=8-2π=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=bialetti+6+cup&dpPl=1&dpID=41xgIaQzFTL&ref=plSrch

2 bags of lavazza coffee beans for a fiver from asda and a milk frother for 2 quid off ebay, and u have a cuppa that's twice as good as what any tassimo machine can produce, and for a fraction of the price.

Heaven knows how this piece of plastic junk gets good reviews. There is always something needs cleaning, refilling, adjusting every time I switch the damn thing on. A real Ferrari on the maintenance side of things. Just waiting for it to break and I will replace it with a more costly but easier pod system.

if you are going Bissett at least get the proper aluminium original version.

£20 Aeropress / £27 Burr Bean Grinder / Buy freshly roasted (not supermarket) whole beans online

yeah you can get a better brew from freshly ground beans and putting all the effort in, but these are as simple to use as making a cup of instant but taste a lot better.

The whole Coffee range is pretty decent and its great for hot chocolate too.

I normally buy direct from tassimo as the Coffee lovers and breakfast range is great value.

Few tips i've picked up is
if you press the button before the cycle finishes you can add more water.
Drop hot choc pods into hot water to loosen the syrup before you use it.
Give the pods a shake before you use them.
clean it regularly and if you get the limescale error run a cleaning cycle with lemonjuice & water.

Im not a big fan of their milk though so i refil my pods with full fat milk and coffee creamer and it works a treat.

How do you Refill the pods and reuse them without it spilling out when you put it back in the machine?

Have one similar to this. Easy to use, tastes better than instant and less mess than a cafetière. I recommend using your own milk and buying 16x americano pods each time though as the milk pods don't taste great.

When I got mine it came with £20 free from the tassimo website so this one may too? It's a good way to check out the different coffees

I have to agree the Aeropress is great but this route is useless if you want latte's, hot chocolate etc!

thanks op. I've tried every other machine so give this a go.

always buy the 16s

pop bit milk in microwave for a min, then do pod

comes out nice a hot then

You definately pay for the convenience, but it's worth it in my opinion. I try to limit myself to max 2 per day.
Keep checking HUKD for deals on the pods - I have rarely had to pay full RRP.

Indeed they can - and do. Depending on how much coffee you drink you can cover the cost of a decent bean to cup machine in a couple of years. That's how long it took to cover the cost of a decent Siemens machine for us, and after that the savings just rack up. Decent coffee at around 5p per cup - compare that with pods of an equivalent quality.
