My trusty Bosch Sensix DS37 finally gave up the ghost so I was looking for a replacement.

This is the top-of-the-range 8000 series which is from around £260 in the UK but much cheaper from Amazon Italy. Still a lot of money for an iron, but if you've ever used one you'll know how it transforms ironing.

  • Powerful vapor pressure of 7.2 bar with integrated safety system.
  • Large capacity removable water tank, for long ironing sessions; allows easy filling when needed.
  • Variocomfort: individual ironing programs, suitable for different fabrics, producing spectacular results.
  • Integrated automatic cable collection: the electric cable wraps itself securely inside the base; there is no need to wind the cable manually.

Obviously has a European plug, so either an adaptor is needed or you replace it with a UK plug.

Price is €174.93 plus €10 shipping to the UK which equates to £154.34 if purchased with a fee-free card like a Halifax Clarity.

Can't find anything like it for that price here. The UK plug 8040 model is £349 on Amazon.

(There are also a couple of "Used - Excellent Condition" ones available for €141.26 from Amazon Warehouse in Italy if you want to save another €33.77).

Yes, but Prime doesn't apply on the foreign Amazon sites - so you will pay a bit of postage. Best to use a currency-friendly card if you have one.

Not sure why it's not mentioned, but it will have a Euro plug. Edit: Oh no, wait, it is. Didn't see it amongst the blurb. Replacing the plug (potentially) voids the warranty but I don't like EU-UK adaptors.
