What a godsend. Until now we've needed two kettles in the kitchen, my wife suffers from the debilitating syndrome of left-handedness and is thus unable to heat water with a right-handed kettle

This marvellous kettle works for both chiral variants.

Sherlock I am not, but didn't take a genius :- Have the benefit of versatility for both left and right handed users with the 360 degrees base
We had one of these, it didn't last long before it broke. The replacement (under warranty) didn't last long either.
It also dribbles. Very disappointing.
Nice little deal for a nice looking kettle
I dunno, my cheap kettle turns 360 on the base.

Same here. First one broke, the next one did too...I noticed the plastic was deteriorating and leaving bits of plastic in the kettle. Even really cheap ones I've had in the past have never done that. Shame really.

The annoying thing was that when Bosch supplied a replacement, the warranty for that replacement started from when we bought the original kettle, and not when we received the replacement.

You'll find that's always the case. It protects them against vexatious claimants.

Not always. I've had kettles that failed under warranty replaced numerous times by John Lewis. The warranty on the replacements always ran from the time when you received them.

Oh - well like their "never knowingly undersold" policy, let's see how long that lasts...
I have had Russell Hobbs kettle replaced via Amazon when they have developed a fault although I did register with RH for their 2 year guarantee. You're lucky if you get near on 2 years out of a kettle nowadays even with proper care.

Which is why I'd never pay more than £20 for one and always try and buy kettles toasters and microwaves as cheap as possible and accept that they aren't gonna last 5 years.

Having said that our 3 Russell hobbs are all still going strong 3 years down the line - kettle been replaced once!

A vexatious claimant would be one that attempts to start a flurry of claims that are all usually totally without merit. Actually, it protects them against liability in perpetuity.

Like by using a product in a way it was not intended, and hence continually breaking it? Or because they have a grudge against the company, continually breaking the product in order to cost the company money?
