It's expensive but well worth it. Bought mine in 2012 and still going strong. Not a particularly great price (I paid £49 from memory) but decent for a quality item.
Agree that it is a great product, but worth mentioning the annoying 'beep' it makes when switching on/off. That said, I wouldn't change mine.
I'd get it for the temperature function, some teas and coffees brew at different temperatures, but not at this price. 3 camels say best price is £39.99, I would bite at £29.99

Excellent price in today's market have a look on eBay to see how much these go for
This is a great kettle for this price - 4 different temperatures and a keep warm feature. If you drink different types of teas (green, camomile etc) it makes all the difference to have the water at the right temperature.

The high pitch and piercing beep is annoying!
It is well insulated over a 'cheap' kettle so keeps recently boiled water warmer for longer therefore potentailly saving money on the next brew.

Actually, energy saving trust says 'save money by boiling only the amount of water you need'. In this case you can save money by boiling to only 70c LOL
I have the one with the controls on the lid not the base and the beep is a lot quieter. This one is very loud.

Sounds like an amazing kettle! Do you have any deals on thermal sealant?
The beep seems to be universally annoying. There are videos on YouTube on either reducing or completely removing the beep.

I don't find the beep annoying. Am I going deaf?

Nice kettle. Paid £35 for mine, but this is quite a good price at the moment.

Top tip, just got to persuade my wife to let me dismantle the kettle (my DIY skills are notoriously poor!!)

If I was buying a 2015 model car in 2018, I wouldn't expect to pay more. Not unless it was a classic.

The Bosch TWK8633 Styline has been around since 2010.
Avoid, I've got this kettle and it won't stop boiling! Going back to argos this week.
The last Bosch kettle we had barely lasted 12 months and started to leak, John Lewis gave us a full refund.
These are probably one of the worst Bosch products.

I had mine for a year until, like yours, it wouldn't switch off after boiling... it was great until then, now its in the garage waiting for me to have a go at repairing it.
Looked at reviews of this before, but yeah, it's fairly old now - and has common complaints about leaks etc.
It's also plastic?

No thanks

They should have released an improved model by now, and this be reduced further.

I've lost count of the number of Bosch kettles I've got through. Longevity certainly isn't their strong point, they seldom last longer than the warranty.

Why? If costs have increased (e.g raw materials, labour, distribution, logistics) then it’s fair to expect an increase for a 2015 model built in 2018....

I bought at 720p TV in 2009 for £1,100 - Hate to think how much it would cost these days.
Had mine for at least 2 years, it's one of the nicest looking kettles with good reviews in my opinion.. . . .and I have paid ridiculous prices for 'designer' kettles in the past. This Bugatti one being the VERY worst amara.com/pro…tle. and most pricey.
The Bosch one looks fine and is great, although noisy (as most quick boil ones are it seems)
Good find op.

But you’re comparing products with completely different economic properties - so the arguments don’t stack up!
Mine mysteriously started leaking after a year or so changed to a kettle with a full metal interior - Ottoni Fabrica Alice.
Expensive, but built to last....buy once buy well.

I took it this guy was just being helpful and pointing out the rate of inflation on this product over the years. Which is worth considering when deciding if it’s a good deal or not.
Not a great price 34169203-MCMbn.jpg
Mine lasted about 4 years then never stopped boiling until my kitchen filled with steam but then again... what is the life of a kettle supposed to be?

I have one of these and I took the base apart and removed the little chip that makes the beep , you can see how to do it on YouTube but only tackle if your competent
I bought this kettle in 2013 for £59.99, best price at the time. I have never had a problem in terms of leaks, filling etc. I bought it for temperature control for green tea and freshly ground coffee. The only thing wrong was the blasted BEEP! Once it was out of warranty I opened it up put some blu-tack in the hole in the speaker. It is a small black disc with a hole in the centre. So there was still a beep but very very much quieter.

If the kettle packs in tomorrow I would buy one again. I would ignore the warranty and do the speaker hack immediately!
I think a lot of kitchen appliances these days are not built to last.

My dad had an old Toshiba microwave, lasted 20+ years and finally died about 5/6 years ago. He's been through about 2 or 3 since.

Think it's just the way of things these days. Shame really because you do associate brands like Bosch with quality...

Agreed, but the car would be three years old and had three years use, the kettle is brand new!
Had two of these, second one was a replacement; think I wrote on here praising first one before it disappointed (wouldn't turn off when boiled).
Second one leaked (amongst other probs with it),
Decided not to bother with Bosch kettles, they make some good stuff, but imo their kettles aren't worth the money or the hassle.
Had mine less than 3 years and started leaking. Bought a £10 from amazon instead to replace. Cant see the point in paying premium amount for something that wont last long.
Funny to see how many people (like me) have opened it up to destroy the beeper. Whoever thought, I know, this kettle needs a beep loud enough to wake a baby?
Great looking kettle.
Handle is a bit awkward as it's squared off.
Ours died after 12 months as somehow a screw came loose inside.

The £5 Wilko job we've had as a put-me-on has worked flawless, haven't got round to replacing it...
