Good kettle, expensive but good quality.

Good kettle but an annoying loud beep when switched on and when it boils - check the reviews.

Isn't there no switch underneath the base or anything to turn it off?, i had a kettle once with something of the same but you could turn it off at least.

Also available from John Lewis for same price and 2 year guarantee. Also available in White

same price in Amazon if you don't wish to goto Argos....

I have this kettle and love it

Great reviews, ordered, cheers. 2 year manufacturers guarantee, ordered it from Amazon in the end.

I have this, we love it

I have this kettle and it's a pain to keep clean

You can get the one without the controls on the base but are on the handle instead if you prefer, currently £42.50 at Currys at the moment.

Always found these to be a bit of a gimmick. I just stop the kettle before the water boils if I'm making tea. Still voted hot in this case as decent brand and warranty.

yep the beep is annoying with a sleeping baby in the house.

I love the style of this kettle, however, the heating element went on the first one I had after about 3 months, I had an absolute nightmare getting a replacement from Bosch, it took 3 months for them to finally get the right one and their CS was worse than useless.
On the replacement kettle, 18 months later, it's just stopped switching itself off at 100 degrees and overboils for 20 or so seconds before switching off, which is annoying and a waste of electricity.
Also, as mentioned on the thread, the on/off beep is ear-splittingly loud and high pitched, it genuinely hurts my ears when I stand too close.

Looks great though, so hey

I'd buy the updated version if I saw it in white.

... Actually, this seems to be the normal price... John Lewis is the same, if anyone would prefer to buy it there.

Heat added, thank you!

As people have already stated, great kettle but the beep is unbelievably annoying, especially if you have an open plan house like us

I wasn't in the market for a new kettle, but this one seems to be very good going by reviews

Owned for three years, leaked for the majority of the time you've owned it, yet you still describe it as "good". Weird.

have one and unlike some people, couldn't care less about the beep.

don't buy

I too have had this kettle for a while and the beep really isn't annoying at all. Maybe in houses where people have to have a cup of tea every five minutes. It's a great kettle. Awesome for coffee as you can choose a lower temperature. Ours still looks new and we've had it a couple of years.

That's it, you've made my mind up. I was giving it some serious thought, but now I won't bother - thanks to you.

I have one of these. Totally overrated for whst it is. Wish I had saved my money as I spent close to £60 on it.
The lid has a tendancy to get stuck in position also - only way to get it open is a two handed risk of scalding....

I've had this kettle for around 4 years, beep is a bit on the loud side.good all round, never had any issues with mine at all

Owned this kettle for 3+ years now. Still perfect, works fantastically. Good as I like green tea so can select 80 degrees. Buy cheap buy again, buy quality and buy stuff once :-).

We had 2 of these in the space of a year, one cracked for no reason the other just died, luckily they were from Amazon who just refunded after the 2nd one.

The beep is no good for a sleeping dog and not available in red

Looked at the thumbnail and thought there were hdmi and USB ports on the base...

Because it still works. Nothing to wipe the worktop every now and then.

i remember a tutorial on youtube showing how to turn that beeping noise down sticking a piece of sticky tape on top of the thingy that makes the noise.

btw, mine is sitting on top of the cupboard, the value range from argos is 10 times better than this German branded crap made in China.

Got this a week ago for £44.50 so only dropped by £4.50. nice looking kettle, but like everyone has mentioned beep sound slightly too loud

A kettle with four temperatures? Solution looking for a problem - so far I think one person has said they actually use more than one temperature.
