Yeah there are a few refurb deals to be had on this model at the minute. My problem is in the description that you have no idea what you are getting when it says : "THE ITEM WILL COME WITH THE ACCESSORIES / CABLES REQUIRED FOR THE ITEM TO FUNCTION BUT MAY NOT HAVE ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES. SEE INDIVIDUAL LISTING FOR DETAILS. THESE UNITS HAVE BEEN TESTED, AND ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR THE WATER TO BE REMOVED COMPLETELY; A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER MAY THEREFORE BE PRESENT IN THE DEVICE"

Also you wont get the 2 year warranty you would with the new models

Good spot. Hughes Delivery isn't the quickest but might be worth it if you aren't in a rush.

Had this for over 2 years now great effixi3ncy is nonsense as it's based in just filling 1 cup and boiling but the temperature settings are occasionally useful - sadly every time it's starts and stops you get a VERY loud BEEP

Nice, but wouldn't pay that much for a kettle

i have this kettle. it is really good. feels very rebost and sides dont get hot and controlled steam outlet - so good if kids about but it makes a loud beep when it boils (Which annoyed us alot) fixable to an extend with a bit of DIY but not sure id buy it again considering its price if im honest

It's fairly easy to disable it. Just need a pair of pliers and a screw driver. There's a few videos on YouTube.

Oddly, it doesn't bother me. In fact, I'll be upset if it didn't beep.

Thanks, did consider the black unit from eBay but decided on a new cream one from your link. Quidco of £1.40 as well.

Thank you so much for this input. I really was wondering.

Not sure why Bosch has a thing about their appliances beeping - my washing machine does the same (luckily easily turned off in settings - first thing I did when I set it up!). A kettle beeping, especially first thing in the morning, would drive me bonkers.

The temperature control is really useful if you like your cafetiere coffee at the right temperature, etc. I've got a Russell Hobbs version.

If you're in the West of Scotland, Watt Brothers have the cream one for £29.99. Stacks of them in the Clydebank store.

Something similar in Lidl for £24.99..

Much as I like LIDL for some things their kettle won't be a patch on the Bosch in terms of build quality.

I have this Styline model & it's fantastic (beep removed!). Heat!

Got a Dualit kettle Jug version and boiled water goes cold ever so quickly. We have had it about 6 years. Looking for a replacement. Recommended the following one because of its 20 minutes keep warm feature.

Can anyone recommend a quality kettle? Price limit around £80. Cheaper would help :-)

Thanks all

I'd contest that statement. Their appliances are rated highly and with the assurance of a three year guarantee.

Some fairly horrendous reviews on Amazon for the black one. Don't know if the cream is a new addition that hasn't had time to develop the faults yet but there are far fewer reviews for that one.

Probably explains why there's plenty of refurbs around.

The loud beeps are really annoying. I took mine apart and drilled out the beeper, it now works fine, but I can see why they use a beep - pushing the button with no feedback does leave you wondering whether it's activated. They should have incorporated a volume control!

Incidentally to unscrew the base you need security screwdriver bits shaped like a two pronged fork.

I actually like the loud beep. Because I do other things while the kettle is boiling in other rooms in the house it's good to know when the water is ready.

Had a problem with the temperature sensor on my kettle. It wouldn't switch off after boiling and would continue over boiling for minutes. It would do the other temperatures fine. This happened after 23 months and because of the bosch 2 year warranty they sent a brand new one. Never had a problem with leaking though.

Why are people moaning about the price, it's only 35 quid, pretty much what I'd expect for a good kettle.

For me personally though, I just buy a bag of coffee beans as I don't drink tea and do bean to cup. I'll never got back to nasty instant coffee and so I don't have use for a kettle.

That's nice, I also have a bean to cup machine but also cook rice, pasta, potatoes, etc and have visitors who may like a cup of tea.

Having had fairly extensive experience of Bosch kettles (though not this particular model), I'd say the warranty is an absolute necessity.

I had a replacement kettle from Bosch a while back. One annoyance is that the warranty for the replacement doesn't run from when you receive it, but from when you purchased the original.

I'm rubbish with anything electrical but I took the beep bit out because I hated it. Love this kettle, still looks really stylish and heats very quietly

Had it... impossible to pour without spilling and if you overfill it at least slightly all the water will be on it base, table, everywhere

Mine pours well without any spillage. Any kettle will boil over if filled above the guideline - that's why it's there. Mine certainly doesn't boil over if kept to the line.
