My next machine will be a Bosch, with this recommendation it's a definite.

My bosch is 22 years old entering year 23. It works flawlessly. WFK2801.

Does anyone know the warranty on this please?
Mine was 2 years and if you wanted to pay extra £119 for the 5 years cover.
Was met down by currys so need one asap. This looks good!
Voted hot as cheapest around, even if not by a huge amount. Just watch the depth as it sounds like it might not be the advertised 59cm but more like 65cm according to a review: johnlewis.com/bos…663
Wow that's cheap for a Bosch. 9kg too.

Samsung eco bubble comes with a 5 year warranty. Both brands were highly recommend in the top ten washing machines for 2020. I had a tough time deciding this morning and went for the Bosch. Fantastic price at £349

Samsung everyday, Bosch aren't whay they used to be 15 years ago. They're "Engineered in Germany" but built on China. Meile is the best for long term reliability but they cost more than an arm and a leg.

I second that...my Beko is 16 years old...only use it 3 or 4 times a week but not had one fault on it.
Buy a decent washer and use calgon

Samsung is marketing BS, aimed at chavs. And the Bosch is a reputable brand.

Easy choice really.
How are AEG branded washing machines there are some discounts on John Lewis website thanks

Bisch Basch Bosch …Bisch Basch Bosch https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/washing-machines/article/which-washing-machine-brand/bosch-washing-machines-rated I know the Series 8 are made in Germany but that's the £600+ machines.

None are made in China, that’s my point.
Back when I sold white goods, Bosch were either made in Germany or Poland.

There is still a factory in Germany that makes better quality products for the German market. There does appear to be a quality difference depending on where they are manufactured.

Both good so choose based on dimensions

I would be tempted, but my existing 16 year old Bosch machine runs flawlessly.

The only thing I've done in that time was replace the dampers as it was shaking around too much in recent years.

As for weight limits, do the 9kg machines have more space in the drum than lower capacity machines ? I take no notice at all of weight when loading my existing machine and typically almost fill the drum, leaving just enough space for the clothes to move around.

Hi can I ask why you went for the Bosch? I'm looking at both but find it hard to look past the 5 year warranty

Beg to differ. I have the Serie 6 WDU28560GB Bosch washer dryer, top rating from Which!, and is in fact manufactured in China

i would not recommend this, i have the 8kg active water
drum is 8kg capacity but programmes are designed for 3.5-4kg max load
if you overload, it puts in less water so clothes are not immersed and not washed
once clothes came out DRY! so the water did not even get to the clothes

it was also very quiet first 4 years, but 5th year the drum is loose/looks like bushes have gone on them= expensive repair!

False economy ?? I wonder why would anyone want to insure the cheap item of £349 for £119??. Unless you are very unlucky you get the bad batch, the chance to get broken wihtin 5 year is very low.
Even it was broken, you just need to buy new one. As it is probably much better.

Correct, kits not economical to keep a washing machine beyond 5 years, energy and performance losses mean they have a lifecycle of roughly 5 years
Wouldn’t care ordered mine from AO and before it came they tried to sell me the extra 3 years lol.

I think one of the main gripes with the newer Bosch machines (of which I have one, albeit a few years ago!) is that the bearings are in a sealed tub.

This is the one I have
Good machine. Bought last year for same price. Nice big drum and best of all, very quiet. No issues so far.

Do not go for the Eco bubble,we have one and there are various reports that the power button is very very sensitive and I can verify that, the slightest touch just brushing past it and it switches on or off.
Also the Eco bubble wash is Four and a half hours long.

Problem is there are hardly any washing machines that aren't sealed tubs these days
I paid about this for a Bosch 6 years ago. Its needed carbon brushes and pump after 5 years. Easy self repairs via youtube videos. So yes I would buy another but as you say if the bearings go its in the bin.
When I got married we used some of the cash to get our first washing machine, a 6kg entry level Bosch. It didn’t have a digital display & cost £399. It’s pretty incredible that 11 years on, with inflation etc, that this is at this price.

Oh & never had a single issue with it. Nor the matching tumble dryer we bought later on.

you are burning money. Your old machine will cost you a lot more per wash than current models, so you have wasted nearly £1000 over those 11 years
Get a new one start making some savings

Not absolute budget but we have a Zanussi Lindo 300 10kg that’s currently available at AO for £299. Would recommend, 6+ years and no probs, in a very hard water area.
