Ive just purchased this using the Ebay PRIZE20 Code. Which gave it 80%. Hopefully it's of use to someone else.

"Which? verdict: An incredible cleaner

The first new model of 2018 from a brand laden with Best Buy awards, the Bosch WAT2840SGB has a multitude of tough acts to follow. On paper, it does check most of the boxes. It's a front-loading and freestanding washer that has 15 choices of washing program and which is not all that large considering its fairly spacious drum. How did it perform when we sent it to our washing machine test lab? Read the full review to find out."

is this any better?

Same mode? but white?

Bosch WAT28371GB.

What does which say?
Made in Turkey
I am also thinking about getting this one. Looking for a while at the same model and this is so far cheapest I have seen for this model.
Which? give it 80% with "a few features missing" and an "abnormally small amount" of mixed fabric load.

Their review
The Bosch WAT2840SGB is up there with the best washing machines we've tested. It's not the quietest or the most energy or water-efficient, but it's a terrific and quick washer that's easy to use. While it's not cheap it's also far from the eye-watering prices of the very top end of the market - this is a Best Buy seriously worth considering.

What is it?

A front-loading freestanding washing machine that can hold 9kg of cottons or 4kg of synthetics per wash, with a maximum spin cycle of 1,400rpm. Its 15 programs include a 15-minute quick wash and an option for silken delicates.

What's it great at?

Most things. It's a five-star synthetics washer, which we see fairly frequently, but also gets five stars for washing cottons - and that's rare. It left both spotless after a standard 40-degree wash, and then spun them both remarkably dry, too - we found only 33% of the moisture from the wash was left soaked up in the clothes - about 10% less than most high-scoring models. It also did a top job rinsing detergent from freshly washed laundry.

It's quite quick at washing - a full cotton load takes two hours 50 minutes and a synthetic wash just under two hours. Selecting a program is simple, even if the dial and display aren't the most sensibly or attractively presented. Overall, it's very easy to use - easy to fill and load, and there's a very informative manual if you're unfamiliar with Bosch appliances.

Is there anything I should watch out for?

There's a few features missing we'd like to have seen - autodosing and an intensive wash program, mainly. It's no better than average for noise, and energy and water use, but it's by no means awful and a fair sacrifice to make for such an outstanding clean.

Is there anything else I need to know?

You're limited to a 4kg max load if you want to wash a mixture of fabrics - an abnormally small amount, particularly for a machine with a 9kg drum.

Should I buy it?

It's a little feature-light when compared with some rival top-scorers, but there's no arguing with the results it produces. This is an extremely good washing machine, and it won't cost you the earth, either.

In my reading this is higher spec, but worth paying the extra £50? Maybe if you need this colour...The closer match to this in white is WAT28450GB. The white available for £359 from currys with discount code. Hope this helps.

This one is a higher spec with a few more functions. The other is not reviewed on which so I cant say which is better.
Less than half a load for mixed fabrics? i just whack all my clothes in my Beko's 8kg drum as long as it comes out smelling clean i'm good lol.

From what I can see from Bosch’s website there’s only a few differences between the WAT2840SGB and the WAT28371GB, besides being a different colour. The WAT2840SGB has additional programmes such as Down Wear, Dark Wash, and Night Wash. As well as additional features like Drum Clean (with reminder), Reduced Ironing option and EcoBar (information about energy consumption).

The WAT2840SGB and WAT28450GB appear to be almost identical. The only differences between the two is colour and the WAT28450GB has added “Sound insulation by additional noise reduction material”.

I personally didn’t feel the additional features are worth the extra £50 for my household, so I went for WAT28371GB.

Yeah, does anyone really pay attention to those different loads for different materials? I too load up to the capacity or near it and use the same programme regardless. The only time I don't is with waterproof stuff.

Whats your opinion about Bosch WAN28201GB?

Whats your opinion about Bosch WAN28201GB?

The WAT28371GB, WAT2840SGB and WAT28450GB are all series 6 models, with the same drum size and the same energy consumption and noise level. WAN28201GB is a series 4 machine, these seem to have an elevated annual energy consumption and increased noise level compare to the series 6. The series 4 drum only seem to be available with 8kg or less, whereas all the series 6 named above come with a 9kg drum. It’s also implied on Bosch’s site that the series 6 has a “Very quiet, durable, energy-saving motor” compared to the series 4, even though they are both marketed with having a EcoSilence Drive? :/ The WAN28201GB series 4 seem to have less annual water consumption than the series 6, and also have shorter programme times. Other than that they all seem to have similar features and programmes, give or take a few, and the more obvious differences in colour choices.

The WAN28201GB Is listed as a Which Best Buy with a test score of 76%. The WAT2840SGB is also listed as a Which Best Buy with a test score of 80%. Really it’s about choosing the machine with the features and spec which best suits your household for the right price. I went for the WAT28371GB for £304 delivered from Hughes. This is currently cheaper (using the code) than the WAN28201GB (cheapest I can find is £329) and I’m happy to forgo the extra programmes for a more energy efficient and quieter machine. If you want the extra features and a more energy efficient and quieter machine, then I would say this WAT2840SGB for £354 delivered is a good deal, if the colours is right. Otherwise the WAT28450GB in white for £359 (as mentioned above by dealtime) from curry’s is your next best bet.

Hope this helps.
A bit late in the day, but picked up this model with some very minor damage to the door for £316 from Hughes, which was a great deal in my opinion - so, keep an eye open for the Hughes's Damaged Good's that appear on their eBay Page and Website from time to time - the actual damage can only be seen with a magnifying glass in all honesty and the price paid by far the cheapest in the UK for a washing machine with good Which ratings.
