Sound is subjective and call quality on Sony 1000xm3 is not great compared to Bose qc35 ii, so I guess the 700's should be better than Sony.

I think tonal balance is a personal thing. But actual resolution can be measured. Distortion, etc. A lot of it is still subjective

I have them and i love them
Noise cancellation is great
Google assistant read whatsapp to you and just pressing a bottom you talk and the assistant reply to the message
Sound is great
Is a great buy
Noise cancelling is great, sound quality is better than the Sony's, however, these sound quite balanced, which may sound unexciting. At higher volumes, I have heard significant distortion on some tracks and the bass quality is low.
The sony's sound much better and detailed to my ears.

From what i’ve read about the Sony’s is that the call quality is awful. I have these Bose 700s after upgrading from Bose QC35II. Either i’ve got a faulty set of Bose 700s or the Bose QC35ii are better quality than the 700s (imo) - i use the 700s daily for music, TV, movies, video calls and phone calls etc (same when i had the QC35II) and a few people have noticed how the call quality isn’t as good as my previous QC35ii’s (on their end listening to me and me noticing that they didn’t hear what i said (at all) even though i’m speaking at a normal volume and no background noise. Also the ‘touch sensitive’ controls on these drive me insane, i can be on a call and someone will walk in the room so i move the headphones around my neck so i can hear, but the ‘touch sensitive controls’ will end the call because i touched the right ear cup even though to end the call you are meant to double tap the right ear cup; not move them off your ears to around your neck, it happens so often and is extremely frustrating to the point i want to sell mine on eBay (probably when a max £1 final value fee deal comes along) and purchase the QC35II’s again. Another niggle is that in this freezing weather when wearing gloves, you cant skip a track, answer a call or whatever else because of the ‘touch controls’ unlike the QC35II’s which have proper buttons - also i think the bass was better on the QC35II’s. They are good headphones (despite all the negatives ive mentioned lol) and this is a good price but i’m putting mine on eBay and going back to the QC35II’s as soon as a max £1 final value fee eBay deal comes along. Agreed though, noise cancellation is great on these, and on the QC35ii’s.

Edit: heat added as this is a good price for these headphones. Guess it’s just down to personal preference and what you’re going to be using them for. Nice find OP

Got John Lewis to price to match, but will be returning. NC is good, but sound quality is poor - not up to usual BOSE standards. Bass is not very good, plus they are very soft i.e you will need to have your volume set to higher than 90% most of the time. Companion app is very basic.

I've had both but changed to the 700's from the Sony's due to the call quality which is a ton better

Bose standard
I don't care about sound quality. I need some good noise cancelling phones to get rid of the noise of people around me chewing, sniffing, snorting, farting and what have you.

Have you tried the Bose 35 II and if so did you prefer them?

Yes, and they were slightly better. However the Sony 1000xm3 were the best in terms of music sound quality imo.
