JL will price match any competitor that has a physical store.

£269 in JL while they are £209 at Electric Shop (Certified Google Shop).

Claim the price match and then insert the promo code available on JL website to get another £40 off of the price. In order to get this extra £40 off you must trade in any old earphone/headphones.

Item must be in stock at competitor which it currently is.

I've sent the price match - I got a price match the other day on the 214 white android ones that were advertised on here. im thinking they may try and wriggle out of giving me the £40 trade in discount as they charge full price first (269.95) then refund the difference once the product is delivered and you contact them. the refund should be 269.95 - 209 = 60.95 then less the £40 trade in however I suspect they will take the price minus the £40 trade in (229.95) as the retail price and only refund £20.95 for the price match. Hopefully I'm proved wrong and I'll argue till I'm blue in the face if they do!

For Android? The previous thread was for a different priced model (IOS compatible) who charges more for this model.

I was assured by email that they would match the price and apply the £40 trade in offer.
the ios version is only £199.99 at sonicdirect
might be able to ask JL to price match that?

I tried that, they wouldn't match the price because technically it is a different product.

"I can confirm that you are able to receive both the price match and the cash back i.e. you will pay £229.95 after entering the code 89792001 at checkout and following the terms and conditions of the cash back offer.

You will then receive a credit to the value of £55.95 once you have received and have confirmed you are happy with your purchase."

This was for the white from sonic direct (more expensive than this thread).
would not match for me think JL is going down hill
So I tried to get them to price match but the rejection e-mail below! Seems very fussy to me, should I just try again and hope to get someone new?

To match a price request, the competitor must trade on the same basis as us. This means we compare how we sell the product to how it is sold by the competitor to ensure it's comparable. We particularly look at stock availability, delivery charges and fitting/installation services.

Electric Shop do not offer comparable service conditions to that of John Lewis as their delivery terms state "All goods must be checked for damage on arrival of the couriers BEFORE signing for, otherwise we are not liable for any damage and the goods will not be exchanged. Any damage MUST be stated on the delivery note when signing" however, John Lewis will accept items to be returned due to damage, even if it is not stated at the time delivery has taken place.

Therefore, on this occasion I regret that I cannot match the price offered by Electric Shop. If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and our pricing you can do so on our website.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
I got the same email as above:

what a swizz from John Lewis. they were happy to match Sonic Direct but not electrical shop!
Same email as above. pretty gutted as i expected them to match the deal. will have to keep looking until the £40 off for trading in at JL runs out.

Me three. I've sent a complaint e-mail because I think that's the most pathetic reason not to price match I've ever seen. I understand delivery fees, installation costs etc but just because they deliver in a slightly different way is beyond ridiculous.
Great deal, got mine delivered yesterday. Ordered and CS send me a email to refund £70 for price-match and did get £40 off for trade-in.
I got the same 'not trading on the same basis' reply regarding delivery T&C's response from them. I have mailed back asking if they will price match on the basis that I can walk into either shop and buy over the counter in which case their rather wheedling get out is irrelevant. Given them the relative costs of public transport to each shop too so they can deduct the extra £6.30 from the price match if they want! See what happens. LOL.

Can confirm I got John Lewis to match against "Thurgo's" price of £209 and was also able to use the £40 old headphone discount. Ordered yesterday and collected from Waitrose near me today.
