"Pinch of salt". Why?

Did you read what I quoted?

They review HDMI cables. With terms like "deep blacks" and "crisp audio".

Yes, I did. However, I was asking you to expand on what you meant. You … Yes, I did. However, I was asking you to expand on what you meant. You have placed "deep blacks" and "crisp audio" in quotation marks. Therefore, I presume that is a direct reference to what What HiFi said about an HDMI Cable? I searched on Google, but couldn't find any of their reviews or articles which said that. Perhaps you could point us in the right direction?

Treble needs a dash of sugar – just not sweet enough

I'd take their reviews with a dash of salt.

Fair enough. They do seem to be in the minority with their average review.

Other sites seem to be quite impressed with the sound quality.

Might give this a go then!
could do with a case , hopefully they will drop from £20.00 at some point soon...

Don't bother with their rip-off cases - get them from eBay instead from only £6 each (UK-based sellers) - a few examples below:

Would this work nicely with an amazon dot? TIA
So the new one is due out soon looking at the Bose web site, has a built in mic for integration from Siri, Google etc, but RRP of £129, that's double the price... can't see the new one being that much of an improvement !

I have one of these for this price it's bang on nice clear audio bass is also decent and sounds ok outside, also battery life is very good around 8 hours I think I also have a b&o play A2 which is 5 times the price obviously sounds better but battery life is pitiful only 2-3 hours if that. Also has a line in port so using that instead of Bluetooth could save some juice
FGS, I don't need a new bluetooth speaker at all, but for this price i'm gonna end up buying one :') Cheers OP!

Publishers. Advertisers. Nuff said.
Would this sound better than my built in TV speakers? (and if so is there a way to connect using a wire rather than the battery?)

I will be using it as a portable speaker too but was on about a sound bar for my TV recently too so if this covers that it would be ideal!

Bose are quality simple .
Just reserved the last Bose speaker in black, Portsmouth
Thanks for the heads-up. Bagged!
Definitely didn't need this but couldn't resist when I saw they had stock just down the road. HUKD hits the wallet again

It depends on how good/bad your tv speakers are, if your TV has a 3.5mm headphone socket you could connect a cable to this speaker and it would work BUT the stereo effect will possibly be poorer than the TV speakers as this has 2 speakers very close together., if you don't have a headphone socket you may have an audio (line) output that could go into the Aux input on this. Whether a sound bar is better is down to what you're expectations and budget are I suppose.

If you can find a use for this as a portable speaker then get it, it might also work for your TV as a bonus.

I see there's a version 2 coming out hence the reductions in price on these in the last month or so... this seems like a realy bargain.

Something cheap very small and extremely powerful - jbl go £20 black version Amazon ( just read the reviews). 5 hour battery Bluetooth and hands free.
Did I need one?..... Nope
Did I have the willpower to refrain from another impulse buy...... Nope
So did I reserve one..... Errrr Yeah!!! X)
Well it's not every day you can get a brand new Bose bargain for £65!..... you only live once and all that!
Ta for posting op, heat added xx
