I've been keeping my eye on these for a few weeks now. Found it for a great price of €159 on Amazon.de.
They also have the white ones for a little bit more at €169.

I bought this yesterday for €169 (I've asked CS for a €10 refund), which when postage is added came to £127 (I got a rate of 1.399), s do I reckon this is now about £119, or £50 less than in the Bose shop.
That's a good rate. Best I could get today was £124 . Still a great price.
Brilliant little speaker
Bought one in America a couple of weeks ago,and it has a great sound.
So just bought this from Amazon as part of my daughters xmas box.
Reckon it will work out about £120...paid with post office card,so no fees, and paid in euros.
good price.
If anyone does not want to spend so much money and get similar performance

I have ordered bose SL MINI II, for £169 and returned it for the sounds i was getting for the price i paid. Then found this anker one on YouTube, sounds like worth every penny. Money and sound well justified. So ordered one, arriving tomorrow....

I have the Anker one and it's brilliant. Doesn't have loudspeaker/handsfree feature, but the sound quality is excellent. You won't be disappointed

Sounds good thanks for the info

Thanks for your insightful and informative opinion.
Be warned, the made in Malaysia or China ones are visibility worse quality and sound worse. When I found this out I will only buy in a store where I can insure I get the made in Mexico stock. Also this 2nd generation one did away with the removable battery which was a massive disappointment.

Agreed, this is for the social housing. I have a Bose Soundtouch 30 series for a cool 499.95 bones.

With the Soundlink Mini 1 you could remove and replace the battery which means you could use it forever, Google it.
Bought a soundlink II from John Lewis 2 months ago and the unit became faulty and wouldn't power on properly. Bose told John Lewis to do a straight swap and I was given a new one nice and easy. Now sure how much hassle it would have been of I have bought it from Amazon.de abroad and needed to send it back.
good review thanks for the share just ordered
Thanks OP for bringing me here to get the link from Tapash for the Anker. This should be a post on its own. Heat and thanks
Bah! Ordered this the other day for €169!
it wouldn't do if everyone's opinions were the same, but I find it hard to believe people can criticise this speaker as tacky....as stated,I have this, and the quality is excellent.
I would have to question what people want when listening to music,if they regard this as a poor speaker.unless it is to brag about how much more their speaker costs them.

Amazon's service is unbeatable now, John Lewis have reportedly gone down hill.

I'm not questioning Amazon.co.uk's service - it's second to none as i've experienced on multiple occasions. I'm just curious what happens with returns when you order from amazon france, germany or spain. Do they give you a free return postage to send it back abroad?
I bought one from Amazon Spain last week, I'm over the moon with it, excellent piece of kit and built like a tank, also got a cover and rubber sleeve for £20 from Amazon UK.

I believe they do yes
Heard one of these in Bose store. Impressive sound for such a wee thing so wanted to hear the larger version but that was a let down as no sound stage at all.

The UK link on Amazon for the Anker Stereo Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker is here

Edited by: "RedDwarfIsCool" 1st Nov 2015
Thanks OP just ordered 3 for the kids Christmas presents, so that's them sorted. I couldn't work out why but somewhere along the line in the ordering process the cost went from 159.90 to 161.24 Euro each. Still a good price compared to UK. It does appear to be postage as that was 7.70 Euro & separately listed. Any ideas?

Cheers Madcow
Just contacted Amazon.de regarding the price difference & they say it is due to the VAT difference between the two countries 19% German & 20% UK. As the goods were going to the UK they charge the UK rate. Hence the slight increase. Hope this helps someone.

Cheers Madcow
I got my EUR10.52 refund but not back to the card used, to a useless gift certificate balance!!

Yes I did wonder!! Makes sense now
The Bose SoundLink Mini II still doesn't support aptX – the higher-quality codec than the Bluetooth standard SBC whilst the £40 Anker speaker does!

My order was showing not dispatched yet after 5 days of ordering & supposedly being delivered tomorrow. Amazon.de have replied to my enquiry saying that they are out of stock due to high demand but are expecting stock soon. Just in case anyone else is waiting delivery you maybe in the same situation.

Cheers Madcow

I should really contribute more to this site. Today I have got a reminder of my username and password just to thank you. I'm listening to this speaker for the first time right now and am blown away that something that cost only £40 can sound so good.

Thanks!
Mine arrived today and its made in Malaysia and doesn't come with a UK power supply. I thought they would supply an adaptor for both.
Mine arrived yesterday.
Also made in Malaysia.Read a few scary reports on the Malasian built ones, but apparently the "newer" Malasian ones, with the bar code sticker..the one I was sent....are ok.
As stated in my earlier post,I bought one in America, that was made in Mexico, and it's excellent.
So I bought this one for my daughter,as part of her xmas box.Obviously can't open it to see,or hear if it's as good as my Mexican built one.But I am sure it will be fine....worked out at £117.87 after rate conversion,so good price.

I received a "made in Malaysia" one. Very disappointed really. The finish is awful, my initial thought was that i had received a fake. I was going to return but amazon will only refund 8.00eur shipping but it will cost me around £25.
