Been trying to weigh up between this or the Sonos 1. Found this at £129. Thought it was pretty good price and cheap compared to everywhere else.

"this is mono so doesn't output in stereo". Being a Bose I'd be amazed if there's even a separate tweeter. Usual complete lack of power ratings, frequency response etc on the Bose website.

speaker is mono

whereas sonos one is stereo

you would 2 of these for a stereo listen - that's pretty more for a speaker in 2017 althought the present buttons/bluetooth and app support is good
Got a couple of these now, they're solid. App support and sound quality is great, really isn' much in it between this and the Sonos. People on HUKD will lead you to believe so though.

This is a decent price, although Amazon do occasionally bundle them in with Echo Dots for £150 if you want to hold out for that.

Also this has Bluetooth which is handy if taking it somewhere with poor or non-existent WiFi.

There is only one full range driver. No Tweeter.

I couldn't choose between these and Sonos 1 and luckily found them in Argos for £180 for a twin pack. (about a year ago) so that helped make up my mind. I've now got 4. Two in the living room to form a stereo pair and one each in the kitchen and dining room. I'm more than happy with them and think they sound great.
I have a sonos play 5 for the lounge and was waiting for ages for a decent priced play 1for the bedroom. Long story short, got a sound touch 10 for £150 for the bedroom and I wouldn't change my mind. For our needs, this is better than I'd hoped. Better connectivity than play 1, gets plenty loud, Spotify drop outs are once in a blue moon (compared to Sonos ).

Really want another, so you've just helped me out! Thanks op

Thanks op just purchased this in black. Going to just use it with my echo dot. I'm miles behind on the latest tech. Hope Ive made the right choice..
