Got Sonos. What advantage over sonos ?

On the face of it probably bluetooth and it's half the price of a Play 5.
Get two Sonos Play 1 instead; better stereo and streaming services.

Got both at home, but Bose lost myTuner Radio giving access to a fraction of radio stations on TuneIn. To get the same service as Sonos you have to pay premium on TuneIn. Browse this subject to find many many disappointed Bose customers.
Tried the Sonos but the lack of Bluetooth means that you’re pretty much locked into the services that Sonos offer, so you have to pay for additional services that are in partnership with Sonos. You can’t play YouTube audio from a vid your viewing, cant play podcasts from bbc sounds, can’t play music you have from non supported platforms. Great sound on the Sonos, but I wonder how long the Play 1 will be supported. If support goes, it’s a brick.

I only mention all this as it was a surprise to me and might be to others. I assumed that it had the functionality I needed.

as others have said no Bluetooth - I was also concerned if no wifi then no Radio access (I think).
I had to search around for this, but there’s Airplay support for this Bose if that’s your kind of thing.

Lossless audio over a WiFi network, apparently AirPlay 2 support has been promised by Bose also.

With an extra app, AirPlay can be enabled on android phones too. Not sure how easy this is for day to day use, though

I’ve been speaking to Bose about this for at least a year and to date no Airplay has come and they just keep saying to wait so I wouldn’t hold my breath. If you buy the previous series (the II) then I believe they had airplay as standard but not airplay 2.

I’m guessing that’s an out of context quote about Sonos not having Bluetooth. This Bose most definitely does.
