Bose Marketing gumpf:
"Many people view soundbars as a common solution to space-saving home cinema. But Bose® don't aim for "common". And this becomes very clear when you look at the Bose® SoundTouch® 300 Soundbar.

The SoundTouch 300 soundbar offers the best performance, spaciousness and bass of any one-piece soundbar of its size. Every cubic centimetre of it is packed with technologies that bring out the best in everything you listen to or watch. Custom drivers, proprietary QuietPort and PhaseGuide technology … and the feeling of hearing sounds where there are no speakers. It all adds up to a premium audio experience for all your entertainment.

It's a statement in craftsmanship, really. This slim wireless soundbar features a premium glass top and perforated wrap-around metal grille that really draws the eye. And don't give that tempered glass top a second thought. It's as strong as aluminium of the same thickness—but much better looking.

With the SoundTouch 300 speaker, we put a lot of thought into taking the thinking out. And that extends well beyond its home cinema performance. When it comes to enjoying your music, you can listen whichever way you want, without worrying about which technols are mogy is best. This speaker lets you play music directly from a phone or tablet using Bluetooth®, or connect the speaker to your Wi-Fi® network for instant in-home listening, without the need for your phone.

SoundTouch speakers can grow with you. Once you have one, you can add more at any time. They all work together. So as you go from room to room, your music goes along with you. The free SoundTouch app gives you greater control of your SoundTouch 300 soundbar—any SoundTouch product, actually—from a smartphone or tablet. Use it to browse music and control that music throughout your home. Start streaming instantly, or use the app to personalise the presets to your favourite music and stations.

When you first hear the SoundTouch 300 soundbar, you'll understand why we spent nearly 10 years perfecting the technologies that really make it sing. But you can have more, whenever you want. Just add the Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module. It's the difference between hearing bass and feeling thunder. Even more? Combine it with Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers for full-on surround sound."

This or sonos beam

Not tried either.

Sonos

Techradar:
- OUR VERDICT
This is the Sonos soundbar we've been waiting for. The Sonos Beam is small enough to attach itself to the majority of TVs, and comes coupled with enough innovation and sound performance to impress. There are a few issues worth pointing out but, at this price, they soon fade away.
- FOR:
Great compact design
HDMI ARC compatible
Superb sound
- AGAINST:
App isn't home theater friendly
No Dolby Atmos
Setup on non-HDMI ARC TVs is tricky

Trusted Reviews:
- Verdict: The best compact soundbar you can buy
- Pros:
Excellent sound
Integrated Alexa works like a charm
Controls TV
Lovely design
- Cons:
Not the last word in bass output

PC Mag:
- PROS:
Powerful sound for its size. Built-in Amazon Alexa voice assistant. Easily expanded with additional Sonos speakers.
- CONS:
No Bluetooth. Optional subwoofer is expensive.
- BOTTOM LINE:
The Sonos Beam packs multi-room, multi-service audio streaming and Amazon's Alexa voice assistant into a deceptively small soundbar.

WhatHiFi:
- OUR VERDICT
One of the best performance-per-pound products Sonos has produced, the Beam is a blinding little soundbar
- FOR:
Impressively enveloping sound
Deep, weighty bass
Compact and stylish
Superb streaming capabilities
- AGAINST:
Can be pushed to harshness
More HDMI inputs would be nice

Cnet:
- The Good:
The Sonos Beam is the least-expensive sound bar available with a choice of two voice assistants, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Its expansive sound can fill a small room. HDMI connectivity includes the ability to power up and control TV input switching via voice command. Apple AirPlay 2 support should please iPhone users.
- The Bad:
The lack of a subwoofer means the Beam lacks deep bass compared to sub-equipped competitors, even some that cost less. You lose connectivity options on TVs that lack ARC. You can't switch between Google and Alexa on the fly and there's some lag with Google Assistant voice commands.
- The Bottom Line:
Although some cheaper options sound better, Sonos Beam is a feature-packed, voice-operated sound bar with unmatched flexibility.

Bose

Cnet:
- The Good:
The Bose SoundTouch 300 is capable of a gorgeously wide sound field, which benefits both music and movies. The speaker is capable of reproducing both dialog and incidental effects with crystal clarity. The system offers easy-to-use music streaming via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- The Bad:
Losing the remote can be more troublesome than with most gadgets. To get the best sound from the system you'll have pay up to a thousand dollars more for a subwoofer and surround speakers. The sound bar's wide effect only works with bare, unobstructed walls.
- The Bottom Line:
The Bose SoundTouch 300 offers sound quality that betters its Sonos rival, but bass is a weakness without the (expensive) add-on sub.

TechRadar:
- OUR VERDICT
The SoundTouch 300 is a beautifully made, precise sounding soundbar. But only those with an HDMI ARC-equipped TV should apply.
- FOR:
Wide, articulate sonic presentation
Gorgeous design and build quality
4K pass-through with HDCP 2.2
Compatible with other multiroom components
- AGAINST:
Potentially frustrating set up
Doesn’t come with a subwoofer
Dialogue can sound a little sharp

PCMag:
- PROS: Immersive sound with adjustable bass and good clarity in the highs. AdaptIQ adjusts audio to suit your room's contour and reflections. Expandable with wireless Bose speakers. Versatile connectivity, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and HDMI ARC.
- CONS: No treble EQ. DSP can be intense at high volume levels.
- BOTTOM LINE: The Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar delivers strong audio performance with multiple ways to stream music and connect to your TV.

All my screens are on pivot wall mounts with no visible cabling, does this have to be on a flat surface to perform,or can it be mounted somehow to the tv bottom edge or maybe the pivot mounting?

@ 01:45 into the video shows the reverse part of the unit, which doesn't appear to have any wall hooks/brackets.
A quick look on Bose's website seems to indicate there aren't any accessories you can get, so it seems it needs to be rested upon some furniture.

I like tech to look nice and minimalist pity
These are very good, especially with the sub and rears. The wall mounts are the same as the 700 ones currently on sale
