Good find heat added

Great sound bar. I've owned it for a while now and it's amazing. Shame the 'virtually invisible' speakers aren't on offer.

Still seems overpriced for what it is... Or am I missing something?

No, you are paying for the name.

this is not made of LG..this is a high quality item
depends what you want and what you can afford
as usual some people will never understand why anyone pays £600 when you can buy soundbar for £60 sometimes but we have had that conversation many times before
this is not to my budget btw but it could be in the future

I've have nose speakers and have to say for the money they are turd.Been looking for someone to replace them and was looking at a decent audio brand like monitor audio. After checking reviews the bose soundboard aren't that good just overpriced and always too much bass. Will probably put my money into the monitor audio sound bar which is also cheaper.

Don't think he was suggesting a £60 sound bar is comparable but having worked it in industry there are plenty of options that would save £100+ that would give similar sound

They might give you a "similar" sound but you still have to pay for the brand.
If you have bose in your home you will look more stylish than having Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha and the rest of them imo.
Again it depends on your budget.
This problem comes up all the time. Members usually come to this site to save money most of the time and this product doesnt qualify for that criteria for most of them.

It's a good product but it's not £1k good for the bar and sub..

Also it's annoying that the demo units Bose use in-stores are locked to their own music/video.. you can't try any of your own stuff out because the demo is specially tuned to only show off bassy music or gunshots and explosions. Gives you no idea of the full frequency range.

I would advise going into nearest John Lewis or Currys and just comparing the soundbars with a song or demo video.. you will find that once you hit about £500 they are all pretty good. I would definitely shop around at this price point.

This is the exactly same price as a sonos soundbar and sub, which is what you could compare this with, so I wouldn't say it's overpriced at all

Remember folks, on HUKD the general ill informed consensus is that if it's Apple or Bose it's automactically overpriced and only bought by mindless fanboys... that's how many on HUKD think and how they vote, regardless of the actual facts.

We've all been spoilt by extremely cheap tech over the last 15 years and forget that in most cases consumer electronics have dropped down in price like crazy so people baulk at paying £500 on speakers......

Interesting but sounds uncomfortable. Literally delivering bass in your face?

I don't like the 2.1 systems I had to buy a matching curved soundbar for my new 65" Samsung tv. I love my 5.1 sony they perform excellent surround sound but WIFE forces sale she doesn't want my tall boy speakers in the house. It was wife or the sony 5.1 I had to choose the wife (I regret). So sadly i will sell it today on e b a y

I've been looking at Sound bars recently and been in so many shops testing them. I can honestly say, that this sound bar by Bose sounded the best. But you really need to buy the subwoofer at a cost of another £599 to get the best sound. So £1,200 in total. It was out of my price range so I went with something else in the end. But if u have the money, this sounds better than anything else including the Sonos range.

Unless you can get rear speakers youre not going to get the most out of the sound. Much better buying a system that can offer 5.1

It's made to take on Sonos, and in my opinion, it looks better. I haven't heard it to give a comparison, but I don't rate my Playbar and Sub, so it can't really be any worse. They've used one larger bass driver rather than two smaller ones, so it should solve the primary issue I have with the Sonos stuff, which is a lack of punch.

I know they are different beasts, but wouldn't this be better value for £299 + some speakers? hotukdeals.com/dea…428

Better off with cheap supermarket brand, like Onkyo.

Apparently the rear speakers in the system are crap. Barely any sound comes from them, so it's not like a traditional 5.1 set up.

Most reviews have said to avoid the rears for this reason.

It comes down to the size. a sound bar and sub can look good in a living room. The days of the old 5.1 set ups with huge floor standing speakers are over.

B&W Panorama 2 is a better buy for a tiny bit more money

Just noticed they have the quiet comfort 35 headphones, £299 with an extra 10% off which seems a good price.

Good to know, B&W don't seem to get the same haters on here although they probably appear less often. I've got some 17 year old B&W speakers are they're grrreeat.

I've heard of blowing your speakers so this makes complete sense to me

I was thinking soundbars a few months ago but if you have the space, then you're much better off getting some bookshelf speakers like the q qacoustics and a decent AV receiver, the quality is amazing and the bass even though I haven't yet bought a sub, sometimes the certain sounds, sound so realistic due to the wide soundstage, that I mistakenly think the sound is coming from the other room or outside.

I agree these are def the best... Heat added.

Possible price of 1022.20 when purchased as a bundle. John Lewis also matched the price to the price of PRC direct

For what your paying out on a bose soundtouch or sonos you be better off buying a 7 or 9.2 surround sound mid to high range av receiver with speakers and sub. Maybe the Sonos is the way to go if you got deep pockets, friends to impress and you dont just stick with a play base. I have had about 10 different soundbars ranging from LG to Yamaha, Sony to Samsung and have found none really to impress me in every department. Currently I am using a 5.1 speaker set up the Denon sys2020 at 200w per speaker my receiver is capable of 11.2. Yes I am fed up with the wires and yes my system doesnt have atmos or dts X now if someone wants a soundbar why not save up for one of these us.creative.com/son…er/

10 years a go some of us, mostly men, wanted these bigs amp and huge speakers everywhere. But in 2017 everyone wants small and functional electronics.

The same goes for computers.. 10 years a go people were happy with these big, frankly unnecessary boxes sitting in a corner of their rooms. Now we use thin MacBooks.

The only CRTs were better quality than the plasma displays and CDs were better than MP3s, but times change.

Sorry to hijack thread but anyone thinking of a sound bar and sub combo should check out Orbitsound - they make some amazing sounding Sound bars for about half the price you would pay for Bose - heard them at an exhibition the other day and if I was after a sound bar I'd have snapped it up there and then. I don't have any vested interest - just passing on my demo experience. Cheers

Is Hai Karate your chosen man scent by any chance?

You can get the Canton DM100 for £450 and that leaves many more expensive sound bars and bases standing

Agree with you there's no shortage of scratchers on here who seem to vote cold on high end gear even when it's a great deal, you never going to change it though.

Have to take issue with you about putting Yamaha in the same bracket as Sony and Pioneer, take 100 of avergae Joe's and at least 85 of them will buy Sony and Pioneer audio products without even considering the superior Yamaha option.

Make you 100% right but unfortunately Mrs Loyal won't have a word of it, hence I am about to pull the trigger on a Canton DM100 to replace this pony Samsung HW-J650 abortion I got on the cheap whilst residing in Austria a year or so ago.

I have read good things about Orbitsound but never actually met a single person that owns any of their gear, hmmmm something else for me to possibly consider now oO

I would second this. I have one of their older M12 units and it's about 3/4 years old now. Absolutely destroys my mates play bar in terms of quality!

For info, I have ordered some QC35 headphones from John Lewis as they price matched. £299 - 10% which I am very happy with.

Just got my system. It's pretty crap. Sounds maybe 20% better than my Samsung TV speakers.

I replaced this with a hifi. The Hifi was perhaps 500% better than the TV speakers.
