I have been in the market for a new sound at to go with my new TV and this one gets very good reviews now the issues have been ironed out. And after a demo of this and the Sonos Playbar, I was totally blown away by the Bose.

This looks to be the cheapest price for both the bass module and sound bar.

The SoundTouch 300 soundbar offers the best performance, spaciousness and bass of any one-piece soundbar of its size. Every cubic inch of it is packed with technologies that bring out the best in everything you listen to or watch. Custom drivers, proprietary QuietPort and PhaseGuide technology … and the feeling of hearing sounds where there are no speakers. It all adds up to a premium audio experience for all your entertainment.

If this is more expensive than your TV then this product isn't for you

You should go and have a demo in Currys or Richer Sounds before coming out with ill informed comments.

I think these comments are meant to be taken light-heartedly. I'm sure this is a great product for someone, but for most, it's an extortionate amount to pay for a soundbar. People may be tempted to spend this much on a 5.1 or 7.1 system perhaps. Either way, thanks for posting.

Are you saying that it's not marketing and there are in fact not any speakers?

Don't be silly.

Like I said go and listen to one and you will know exactly what they are referring too.

Heat added and a good find, I have given this a demo and it is mighty impressive.

Would love to, but I don't have any ears (in marketing speak)

I went to the Bose shop in Braintree where the Soundbar is £599 and the Sub was £599 and so close to buying it. It sounds amazing and heat added for this price. I have the Bose Solo 15 11 and it sounds great but not a spot on this

The Yamaha YSP-2700 sounds better than this and is cheaper.

Not a chance, I have the ysp 2500 in the bedroom and this for the main TV, the yamaha though good is not a patch on this, the ysp 2700 is a small upgrade over the 2500.

Surely it's more cost effective to get a divorce and a proper surround system. Better quality sound and you don't have to wait for the missus to go to bed before you can watch Platoon again.

I did a demo of both and found the 2700 sounding better. The sound beams really work well as well. The Bose needs the sub and also extra rear speakers if you want surround. The Yamaha is a complete unit although you really need a nice square room to get the best from it...

The WhatHiFi review of the Bose mirrors how I felt tbh...

Ah I see what you mean, I thought you were comparing complete packages? The soundbar on its own isn't the greatest, you definitely need the sub to go with it.
