I know not everyone likes Boss but seems like a good deal with the cufflinks , there is also the stainless steel strap for £99, instead of £199.

Same reason people like to wear branded, well everything.
Normally I'd be hating on fashion brand watches, but this one looks pretty smart and this looks like a fairly nice set for a gift. Assuming the model number in the description is correct, it has a pretty nice dial

Loving the cufflinks personally, and by themselves they are like £40-60, so great deal just because of that

I am afraid they are not worth £40-60.

Same bud. I've also wondered the same when people drink coke, eat kitkats, buy loafs, drink bottled water, any clothes with a label on it, etc. Nothing should be branded.

If you like this design but want a bit more watch for your money, you might like this:

Very similar dial, if a bit more bling, with a Miyota automatic movement and saphire crystal - and it costs less.

I've seen those before, and as much as I now find a ticking quartz movement jarring, I'm not sure switching up for a 'Cadisen' with the relatively agricultural Miyota movement is the answer (especially as you may still get stung for VAT on import from Aliexpress). The Sapphire crystal is a great shout, otherwise the Boss gift set represents pretty good value (in my opinion). If I was to switch up for a cheaper smart looking automatic I'd probably go for something from the Seiko 5 range, like an SNKL23 or 41. The movement isn't great either, and no sapphire, but at least it's backed by Seiko in terms of warranty etc.

I can't fault you for that, you can't go wrong with an SNK.
