It's been said repeatedly on here - if you want a cheap bike (no problem with that) then a get a basic one without hopeless suspension, etc. That way you've got half a chance of getting something decent.

No, I'm not a bike snob (I wouldn't buy one of those very expensive ones either) and I love a bargain but under 100 quid for a full suspension bike will probably end in tears!

You can get a basic but decent bike ready built from Decathlon for under £100. If you must go to Halfords you'll probably have to pay a bit more for similar. Below this you really are likely to hit quality and rideability problems.

Before someone says buy used: a decent used bike isn't cheap and you can spend a lot on a few replacement parts to get it up to spec. And if you can't do the work yourself then forget it at bike shop labour rates.

I know, but the reviews were ok (ish!), and it's from Amazon, so any probs, it goes straight back !

Hold her own... it's a saying.

I mean, 17KG is quite heavy for a girl of 12 years
