Cracking speakers, been using mine for a while with a cheapy amp from RS. cheapest I've seen them in a long time.

They come with corner and wall mounts for all the speakers in the box too DEad easy to use/setup.

Ultra-compact SoundWare XS satellites
8" vented subwoofer with 100-watt amp
BassTrac® circuitry for deep, powerful bass without distortion
Satellites feature 1/2" dome tweeter and 2-1/2" mid-bass driver
MagnaGuard® magnetic shielding

The SoundWare XS 5.1 Loudspeaker System is an ultra-compact 5.1 speaker system that brings a new level of style and substance to the fast-growing surround sound home entertainment category. It allows users to enjoy rich, room-filling surround sound with their home entertainment systems, while complementing virtually any décor in a stylish yet subtle (even virtually unnoticeable, if desired) manner. The system’s five ultra-compact and stylish SoundWare XS satellites are real two-way speakers (unlike many competitors). Each features a high-performance 21⁄2-inch (64mm) woofer and a 1⁄2-inch (13mm) tweeter. The contoured-rectangle subwoofer, colored to match the satellites in either black or white, features a 100-watt (250 watts peak) amplifier and 8-inch (203mm) driver. Wall brackets are included for easy installation of all five satellite speakers.

Lovely looking speakers and very compact. Unfortunately my subwoofer went pop after 2 weeks. Even more unfortunately Best Buy could only refund as they were closing down at the time. Voted hot though.

cheapest i have seen, hot.

not sure if i like smaller speakers than my Z-5400 Logitech though..

Fantastic speakers these

Had these for the last year or so in a 7.1 setup and they sound fantastic for the money.

Fantastic price for a great set of speakers! Well worth the money!

I been using a set for over 2 years now and the sound coming out of them is amazing for its size. Really wanted to get a extra set for 7.1 setup. But couldn't get approval from my OH... when it was posted over a month ago....

TBH never use tannoys before but heard good comment about that brand.

I have put the volume up on the BA speakers to test them and the sound was like being in the cinema. Tested it when playing Lord of the Ring "The two Towers"

Bought them mainly because of its size as my OH wasn't happy with big speaker hanging against the wall.

Hopefully some audio guru on HUKD can help...

a heads up , the white version is on richer at £150 but stock is scarce

I've got the black. Wanted white but they are like unicorn ****.

If got them 6months ago as open box from richer sounds at 175. Great great speakers. Mount easy and look awesome.

same price at richersounds plus you can get a 10£ discount if you sign for free vip. And white set they selling for 149.99

Personally if you are using an av receiver for music as well as home cinema use it always is more of a compromise setting front speakers as 2.1 as you need the subwoofer to provide the bass so lacking from such tiny satellite speakers.

If space/budget/other halfs detest for bulkier speakers matters then it is a compromise, otherwise I would always recommend at least bookshelf speakers over satellites anyday.

These went up by 25% a few years ago so I lost interest.

I want some white ones for the Bedroom.

Hi im new to separates like this i usually waste my money on an all in one system can anyone recommend a cheap amp to go with these ?,i mainly want it for tv use and ps4 so im assuming i need one with hdmi inputs and an optical input? Thanks

Just HDMI input / output will be fine. Anything on this link should suffice: richersounds.com/pro…ers

I personally like Denon.

Maybe I should repackage mine and sell them, I got three sets of the 5.1 package in white just before Christmas as thats all Richer Sounds had when I was buying some for myself (2 rooms) and a friend. Friend backed out so I put the third white set in my parents house lol

But I second how awesome these speakers are for the size (and price), I used to have 5.1/7.1 floor standers but I just couldn't be bothered with that much kit any more, these mount really easily, come with mounting brackets you can screw into things (strangely the picture on the Amazon listing shows the bracket without the cover on it that makes it look a lot neater). They are nice and discreet but put out a really nice sound.

Heat!
Edited by: "MasterCheese" 11th Jul 2014

I shall heat this. Bought around the same price, put them on a decent Denon amp and they sound the nuts. Set the sub crossover to 120hz to stop it cutting out in quiet passages then kicking back in with a click. Used to have b and w on a yamaha with some mordant shorts for rears and I'd venture to say these sound better for movies.

Are these any good with music? Currently using JBL control ones with a cheap Yamaha sub. Have to turn the the sub off with music as it sounds slow & lumpy.

These are truly excellent speakers for smaller rooms and the white ones blend in seamlessly with white walls and ceilings. I have surrounds placed on the ceiling using some nice white trunking, and guests typically don't even notice them unless the telly is on. Highly recommended.

Your old kit sounds like what I’ve got in my study now, except with a onkyo TXNR-525. I've got the Q-Acoustics Q series 5.1 and RXV673 in the lounge and i'd say the B&W 601's sound much better, especially on two channel.

Digressing slightly, but personally, I've always found a bigger speaker cab will, generally sound better than the "style" speakers. But.. I'd still recommend these over any sound bar - but i'd always try and listen to them first.

very good price though

At that money you can't be disappointed. Had mine for a couple of years, well happy with them

If you want an a/v receiver to go with this try Peter Tyson. I got a great deal for these and Marantz NR1504 slimline, plus wires. I'll double check price. If you're under pressure from other half to keep sound system discreet, slimline is the way to go. Being a novice I couldn't believe how bulky most a/v receivers are.

Sound on these BA speakers is stunning. Beware sub is quite big - I've hidden mine behind a chair.

I'd agree for two channel and I may very well use them in another room for exactly that purpose. used to work at Sevenoaks sound and vision so got to listen to some nice stuff but the BAs are perfect for a living room setup I think.

Can anyone recommend any speaker stands for the rears - don't want to screw into wall really. Do they have a standard screw size on speakers?

I'm sure you can get stands but they are very neat on the wall. Pin the wires back, run them under carpet if you can. less intrusive than having them on stands even.

Incidentally I am no DIY expert and was dreading drilling into wall but it was a doddle.

I picked up these from Amazon a few months ago for my Canton speakers, a little fiddly to attach but that's probably down to my speakers and not the stand.

amazon.co.uk/Mon…and

They're nearly £27 at the moment, but they always seem to drop to less than £10 on a regular basis. Think I paid about £8-9 and well worth the money if you can get them for that price.
