Hmm, can't seem to find what they have going on, on what day....
Best airshow in the UK imho.
Great day out for the family. Lots to see and do. Smashing beach too.
Been last few years and wouldn’t miss it.

It'll be a while yet as they have to wait for the various air display teams to get their display licenses. Torbay airshow is better lol
Went last year, can't beat it, sun sea sand and airplanes. The Saab kracken was amazing and they had a dog fight involving a 1960s Soviet MIG and an American fighter plane it's all free and I got a tan too, total fire to this 1.
I live here and although it’s ‘ok’ as an airshow, it is nowhere near as good as the free Eastbourne airshow! Bournemouth seems to lack anything exciting nowadays except the Typhoon (on occasion) and the Draaken last year.

More often than not the weather is awful whenever this event is on.

Also the traffic onto the A338 Spur Road is horrendous as the population of Bournemouth swells.

I expect the vast majority come because it is a free event.

The one mile stretch between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers is densely packed with commercialised stall holders whilst the sand is also densely packed, but with people, so if you were lucky with the weather and fancy a bit of sunbathing too, good luck with that!

You can of course opt for one of the beaches further away if you don't mind not being close to the action so you at least you get a bit of sunbathing space.

Not sure what you say about the weather is that accurate as the last two years we went were glorious, actually got burn to a crisp both times.

What you said about it being densely packed is true mind.

First time we went (2 years ago) was by accident, just planned to visit Bournemouth for a normal day out and was confused to why i was struggling to find a parking space and to why there were so many cars around,we soon released what was going when we got down the sea front.

There's no stalls on the promenade. Can't have been taken either during the airshow or where the action is!

Dont tell me to wind my neck in pal. I don't really care if you don't suffer fools.
Stick to the deal and stop being personal.
Really want to go to this. To those who's been, where is it advisable to park if we turn up Sunday morning around 8?

8am parking will still be easy, try parking "Boscombe" end, I'll add a map

At 8am you should def. Get parked on these roads, Owls Road, or any that side is free parking

Those beach huts looks like the ones just a bit to the west of Bournemouth Pier. So there are no traders there. The traders are only between Boscombe and Bournemouth.
I could be wrong though as I wasn’t there to spot beach huts.

That explains it then. The West Cliff is outside the "action zone"

Thanks for that. So do you see the airshow more at the Boscombe pier end or do you just suggest parking there and then head back to bournemouth pier end?

All the action is on the East Cliff between the two piers and the majority of aircraft displays occur within this area so I guess somewhere between the two piers if you are looking for the best vantage point.

Well the Fairford Air Show seems to have the biggest traffic queues. Diabolical!

Yes and no. Don’t all planes approach from that side unless you are the arrows and come from the cliffs in the middle??
I’ve sat there and had amazing views.
They are better when centre stage but off to the side you can relax a bit more.
Shall we just all just agree that is the UK’s biggest air show .......... in Bournemouth

Also there's park and ride for £10. All info online. Theres an app too. Red Arrows is the biggest pull, they were in USA for 2019 event so we didn't go. Its a cheap day out with a decent day's display. If they get an F35 Lightning to display, I'm there! I'll repost this in July when it's more current. OP you jumped too soon haha.

We went on the Saturday last year. Definitely rained! Dried up eventually though. Not a bad day out by any means!
Look to those ney sayers and trolls and the people who moan about which is a free event in my opinion are what's wrong with the world these day, these are the guys have nothing better to do with themselves and they should get a life. The people of Bournemouth and the people who put on the Bournemouth air festival should deserve a big pat on the back for putting on 3 amazing days of fun for all the family and to even get things going on at night too with the fire flies and fireworks too omg come on how petty can you get. If it's raining take a brolly, if your worried about the traffic get there early, as there is plenty to see and the gardens 2 are gorgeous. There's plenty to put a smile on any ones face lol......

Thanks Steve. We always used to have family holidays caravaning in and around the New Forest, so every year in August we’d stand along the cliff top with ours noses poked through the wire mesh fence waiting for the planes being announced over the tannoy. The highlight was always the Red Arrows doing their acrobatics over the Sea. To this day I still get a lump in my throat whenever I see them and a sense of National Pride.
