Good price. Used at eBay cost around 180 plus postage.

Don't rate these. Not worth this price and certainly not worth the RRP. They lack presence, I returned mine.

What did you choose instead of them ? I am looking around for something really good up to 300 pounds. Stereo, without sub.

There's a physics issue at play. It is very difficult to produce high quality sound out of a very small speaker. So if you want something this small you will probably need to compromise either on quality or price.

Look at the Dali Zensors, most impressed with mine. Better than Q Acoustics and not far off my old BW 685s.

They're not the same class of speaker. The B&W are compact desk speakers.

I compared the MM-1's directly with the Bose Companion 20's which I've owned for a few years now. Yes the MM-1's are better on the mids but the Bose are richer (sometimes too much) and have greater presence. Considering the RRP's of the two are twice the price, the MM-1's are nowhere near as good as the price suggests. Also, B&W have ceased support for them now in terms of firmware updates.

I had these, really good speakers. People who heard them thought there was a subwoofer somewhere. As always, personal preference comes in.

mine just arrived. my main system is KEF reference 201/2. i use sonos and B&W M-1 for bedroom. these are for my office. I think they are good value at 250 (i used them before at friend's). build quality isnt the very best, but good enough. not many speakers out there, especially for desktop use, come with remote, so choice was easy for me.

How do they compare to a couple of play 1s ?

Good price, meant to post this deal myself. I'm really happy with mine and perfect for desktop use. I paid £150 for a set from John Lewis in their clearance (missing box and remote but came with a 2 year warranty). Got the remote direct from B&W for £13. Would happily have paid more so I think this is a good deal.

I just got these delivered yesterday - £191 from Amazon Warehouse. They are for my computer desk so not comparing to a bigger system. My daughter has the Audioengine A2's and I find the vocal on these has more presence, they are 'sparkly' although poorer recordings really show. The A2's are very good too, but it depends on your choice of music. I prefer these personally. I can only presume they are about to be replaced in the B&W lineup.

i feel they are more balanced and has more extension to both high and low. they dont play as loud tho. it really excel with classical, jazz, acoustic type music and i dont think they are built for mainstream pop/rap, bassy tracks.
