I just got an email from BPay saying, if you spend £25 between 14th July & 13th August you get £5 cash back.
(Email link in 1st comment)

1/ Register and claim your free band.
2/ Activate your band.
3/ Topup with £25
4/ Spend your £25 during the time period and receive £5 free!.

TOP TIP - I have taken the chip card out of the rubber band and carefully sanded it down, then slipped it between my iPhone and the case... I now have a contactless payment iPHONE

Note:- you are only eligible to earn and receive cash back if you have agreed to receive SMS and email marketing communications when you registered your bPay band and remain opted in to receive marketing communications as of 31 August 2014

PayTag's are not the same, as you require a Barclaycard to get one, therefore this is an alternative.

OR, you could have just requested one of their PayTags

you need to have accepted marketing emails and texts when signing up which I didnt, I have updated my details to allow these but dont know if it will still work.

Just pointing out that the main b payband has been posted and the cashback referenced in the thread.

You may want to update the OP as you are only eligible to earn and receive cash back if you have agreed to receive SMS and email marketing communications when you registered your bPay band and remain opted in to receive marketing communications as of 31 August 2014.

Thanks.. I will add your comment to the top

I got sent a sticker to put on the back of my phone when all this contact less stuff came out. Maybe worth asking if they still send them out

It's all well and good saying that, but it would help if Barclays send you one in the first place! Still waiting for mine which I ordered a few weeks back...

Just ask for chip straight away, and they will give it to you. Dont be caught on this trick, they just getting you use to pay with one hand move, next step will he chip under your skin by your OWN will, because all services will be cheaper and they will buy you with that.

Can you have a chip inserted under your skin? It would be very secure and convenient. You could have it in your forehead, but when you pay it would a bit odd. Maybe in your hand is better.

You need a barclaycard for that one... these are open to anyone and can be topped up, so not the same.

Secure?! Lol. You can steal all data of chip in few seconds with £100 worth of equiptment. Same with contactless debit cards... And even IF it would be secure from thiefts, i wont be secure from govermental power structures - enemy nr1 against all humanity.

Fair dos, although I did get my PayTag, I'm still awaiting the arrival of this one, despite them sending me an email today saying, "We hope you've had fun using your bPay band."

Ebola is American job (to be more accurate, world rulers who stand behind the government, same as in UK ), it ash been planned and known for years, its in a lab created virus and been spread purposely . Its a tool to push forward vaccination even more further and bring more institutions and laws to enslave you and me even more. All this show is for YOU and other countries.
But of course you know nothing cuz you STILL read newspapers and watch news which is 100% lie.

Can you give us an idea of what dimensions you managed to get the chip down to after sanding? I've got an idea of sticking this in the back of a watch (TI Cronos). Perhaps I'm being too optimistic...
Mine just arrived today, so I haven't even got around to activating it yet.

It's tiny, find it by gently bending the card around the middle and the outline will show. Just used a pair of scissors to get to it.

Thanks for the info! I think I've got to try sticking the chip in my (slightly) smart watch, now I know the tiny size of the chip.

Hi, does the chip still work? have you actually tried it at a retailer?

Finally got my fiver back. Hope everyone else did too.

Never got my band, anyone else?

So, I just realised that the bPaybands expire in May, and registrations for bPaybands are now closed. I contacted bPayband, and have been told all money will be returned to the issuing card and that we will be "contacted regarding what's next for you and your bPayband".

I was then told to register for updates on upcoming products. So I'm guessing this isn't going to be replaced.

I'm really hoping that the device is continued, as despite the repeated awful system faults they've had causing failed topups, the devices are really useful, and perfectly fill the gap that nfc payments is leaving in UK. We won't be getting Apple Pay, we still don't have Google Wallet fully here, and there's very limited options for NFC payments on Android in general.
