Dear ****

Thank you for your email dated the 29.07.2011 with regard to our Reserve
& Collect Service. I can appreciate your disappointment that the service
has not met your expectations.

Whilst we sympathise with your situation, I can advise there is a
disclaimer on the reservation advising that stock availability in store
is an indication only and is not a guarantee of product availability

We rely on our customers to give feedback on the services we offer and
we thank you for taking the time to send in your email. This
information will be used as part of the process to improve our customer
service in all areas of the business

Kind Regards
Nicky Gutteridge

Its a total mess and the laughable part is 'we have a disclaimer therefore we do as we please' poor service is poor service. Rant over
Just reserved one (and a few other things that I don't really need but "may come in handy"!)
Thank you....
Thanks for posting, I've reserved a Gelert Scafell Rock Quickpitch compact 2 person which is reduced from £25 to £10.

Yeah me too just what I've been looking for. Cheers
I ordered loads of camping gear at the weekend and most of it was out of stock but at least i received a phone call to let me know.
800mm HH. you better hope it doesn't rain...
I expect they are all out of stock. For £5 it isn't too bad a tent but I will warn anyone getting one they aren't the most waterproof things in the world. I left mine at download this year as it was soaked through
DO NOT TRUST RESERVE AND COLLECT
When I went to pick something up a full 24 hours after I had reserved a series of items which were in the sale, they printed off the list of items and told me to find them myself! The things I wanted the most were gone. Awful service
There were some still remaining in the New Malden store this morning. I bought one of these over the weekend & put it up. It will be fun for the kids in the garden & may be on a beach/ park but this is not for serious camping.
A non waterproof tent? Really??

agreed ive used their service 10 times, and theyve failed 10 times

this time i reserved stuff at reading, farnborough and slough but was told nothing in stock for all - slough were so lazy they told me 2 days later (luckily i didnt bother going after reading and farnborough both called quickly)

anyway as i live near the reading one i went their and found over 50% of the 12 items id reserved on the cbloody shelf - and 2 items in a staff members trolley
as mentioned reserve and collect facility is worthless
made a 40mile round trip to collect a tent and a few other odd and sods

nothing was left for me and they had nothing in stock despite reserving it online and it saying they had some in stock
dont make a wasted trip
Lol if its anything like the cool boxes i reserved one went to collect and they had non but was showing 20 on the computer system what a joke
While we're having a go at B&Q:

Selected a kitchen sink from catalogue for £169; display item mounted 15 feet up a wall (staff not allowed to remove for examination); not stocked to buy in any stores (order only); didn't want it delivered to home as would have to wait in; went back to store to order for collection; can't do that either!; home delivery only; £10 delivery charge; had to pay on order! So, it's impossible to get this item for the advertised price and, based on others' experiences, I'm not sure it's even in stock anyway. Hope it arrives and it's good!

They've got loads of these in the York (Hull Road) store. I bagged 2 for next years' festivals.
Completely wasted my time with this on Saturday. Reserved items, received confirmation and although aware of the disclaimer the confirmation stated items will be ready by 10AM following day.
Arrived at store 5PM to be told completely sold out and that I 'should've' received a phone call....
B & Q Reserve and Collect is a joke...absolutely bloody hopeless..couldn't organise a ****-up in a brewery.
I agree with the comments about B & Q Reserve and Collect. I made 5 'reservations' at the weekend. I got phone calls from 3 of the stores saying only parts of the orders were in stock. The other 2 didn't even bother to call. When I visited all 5 of the stores, not one item that I had 'reserved' was available! All were out of stock / had been sold, despite assurances from staff at 3 of the stores that at least part of the orders were available!
well I must just be lucky then - nearest one to me with stock was dartford, kent - got there and items were in reservation cage with my details on (2 x sleeping bags & popup tent from other deals here).
Just a positive experience against all the bad -maybe you can call the store direct to make sure before trip ?
Just the job to keep the kids happy in the garden - as long as it's a doddle to put up...
Gosh keave b&q alone. Tents and caravans are for people who cant afford a real holiday or a bmw
*leave
Just bought one in Gillingham Kent store. Still had a few in stock. Up in 5 minutes and perfect for the kids to mess around in but i wouldnt use it for over night camping.

Just been to the Garthdee Aberdeen store, they had a fair amount of these £5 tents left but no sleeping bags or airbeds.
Good price. But B&Q reserve & collect is hit & miss.
reserved at dinner time today, telephone call received to say its ready for collection, in boot of car by 4pm..... fantastic service and fab tent for £5!

Same here reserved and picked up without problem, there were also some still at entrance.
I see what folks mean about the didgy 'reserve and collect'

I reserved one from Reading store yesterday, to pick up today. As I had some time free last night I popped in anyway and saw there was one tent left, so grabbed it.

When I got home, there was a phone message from much earlier in the day that I'd overlooked - B&Q had called to say they didn't have any in stock so had cancelled my reserve & collect anyway!?
Picked one up yesterday, can anyone confirm its water tight?
Whole stack of them in local B&Q yesterday at a fiver still- have used their reserve and collect twice without problem over past week
