I am putting down a patio for my in laws and have shopped around A LOT. After going to several builders merchants and negotiating discounts for bulk buying, the best price I got was £1.55/slab. That was for the 16" or 400mm paving slabs.

Anyway, I noticed the B&Q 15% so nipped up with a Diamond card owner, they were selling the slabs by the pallet (of 52) at £62.84- £1.21 a slab. So taking the 10% Diamond card discount off this price they work out at £1.08 each, 30% cheaper than the best price I got anywhere else. Individual slabs were £1.33 after the 10%.

Don't think you can order by the pallet online.

bought some of these last year, and they are really good for the price, great for ppl doing there garden on a budget!!

And what if you don't happen to have a "Diamond Card" holder at hand to use his card?

You have read that wrong. It is still the title price for non discount holders. The OP (OAP) said that it was even cheaper for him as he had the diamond card.
That said, the title is still misleading as you have to buy a full pallet load to get that price.

Were all the colours included (Buff, grey etc), or just the grey ones ?

Last time I ordered they delivered.........at a charge of course.

I even spent £1200 at the time & they wouldn't deliver for free !!

Delivery was £20.

I would think most people would need at least a pallet of these too, coverage is 0.16m2 per flag so a pallet only covers 8m2 which would be an average patio size. Unfortunately for me, I am doing a back garden!!

I agree, the price probably is a little misleading, however even at £1.47 a flag for singles without OAP discount they are still cheaper than the next best discounted price I got.

They come in two colours, Grey or a Beige type colour. However all their Paving is discounted by 15% at the minute and that does seem to make it all very well priced.

is the diamond club wednesday only? or anytime?

my mother just turned 60 so we may be having a run out sometime

Just phoned up my local B&Q.

None in stock (due 11th June), but they are £53.41 for a pack of 52 (£1.03 ea)

Good point, I think it is less for under £200 and increases as the total amount spent increases.

Yeah, unfortunately Diamond cards can only be used on a Wednesday. You can get one on the spot though.

I can't see when this deal expires so hopefully you have time to get up if interested.

thats a very good price! anyone know the bulk discount on the 600x600 size? i know they are more expensive but they are 2.25 the size so may work out cheaper for the area - or at least less joints!

I saw them at that price too, but I think that may be before VAT. I ordered 3 pallets, 19 singles (which I know were £1.47 each) and home delivery came to £176 before OAP discount. Then added VAT to get £190.

So I think you're right, even better. £1.03 for one of these is an amazing price.

Re: none in stock. Do they do the Tesco offer where you can get a price promise now for this price (and get them at that price when in stock?).

No idea mate, probably not - they will magically appear back in stock after the 15% promotion has ended.....

This is a utility paving and is ideal for creating a shed base

At 28mm, should they not be thicker than that ideally?

these were on special at 98p a few weeks back. we needed 125 by my calcs .... they were out of stock, but, after talking to a couple of chaps on the trade secion in our southend store, it was apparent we could order them. on further discussion, as i am self employed with a kitchen shop, they suggested i open a trade account, signed up for on the night. It also qualified us for free delivery on orders over £50, rather than the £400 listed.

the slabs were delivered to my home address via Hi-Ab and they were very helpful... however wheelbarrowing 125 slabs round to the back of the house was not as much fun as i had anticipated... and i hadn't anticipated it being at all fun!!! lol
by the way, the stones appear very much lighter grey than the web pic imo.

anyway... good luck.

£20 is standard delivery no matter the quantity when ordering instore. I had a pallet of these sand three internal doors and a few other bits and pieces all delivered for £20.

So need to sort something out soon!

I'm looking for a log cabin myself - did you have a good look around? Didn't think of B&Q. Not many places around that sell them.

These slabs would be ideal. Thanks

yeh i had fun puting approx 100 600mmx600mm thick slabs and 6 fence panels and greenery in a van - 2 Merc LWB van loads , then taking it down the tip and unloading it -
slabs must have been about 30-50kg each....
being an office worker but not that feeble, felt like and orangatang at the end of the day

trust me these slabs are terrible, they are so weak you can put milk on them and eat them for breakfast.
AVOID you have been warned

ideally yes.... but these are cheap, if your looking at buying 28mm slabs you probably don't want to spend a lot of money and aren't that bothered that they're not as durable as thicker slabs.

indeed, if you're buying these for the in-laws, you'd probably want to put a shed on top - otherwise they will be able to dig themselves out too easily.

I (unfortunately) work at B&Q. Instore, delivery is £20 for orders under £400 and free over £400. If you want them at the 15% off price, you can go instore and place an order. You pay for them when you order them and then the store contacts you when they're in stock to arrange your delivery.
All slabs are selling fairly quick what with the 15% off and the weather being right.
Also, we change our deals every Thursday so you have until AT LEAST Thursday to get them at this price.... maybe another week or even longer since they don't tell us he offers until the day before.
