Just a point worthy of note:
Appliances are rated A to G. Whilst a 'B' rating is not as efficient as an 'A' it can hardly be considered "bad".

Well said. The difference between an 'A rated one and a 'B rated one is probably something like 50p for the year (of average use). This is an absolute bargain. HOT HOT HOT!!!!

Right, but it can't be considered very good either

Grade A and Brade B etc is all relative to the exact appliance, not relative to other electrical items. A/C's use many KW's of energy in the first place.

Right, but it can't be considered very good either

Eh?? it's above average. If you consider 'A' to be better than 'B' and 'A' is "very good" then, in my book (given the aforementioned A to G scale), 'B' is therefore at least "good". Therefore you're "bad" rating is undeniably incorrect.
(Is this really worth my effort/energy though ?)

I meant "bad" relative to grade A- add on another 8% power consumption for grade B.

This is the air-con which was in the Going Going Gone sale at the end of last month, thread of which this air con was discussed hotukdeals.com/for…051
Funny it seems they're not going going at all :giggle:

Nah, don't do that, I'll be out of a job!.....so will a few others, we must devoutly supply the world with its insatiable appetite for Energy! :-D

It's been replaced by global wetting!:giggle:

Banned

global cooling (wetting) is when pollution keeps the earth cooler by bouncing radation back out to space, hence by cutting pollution the earth actually gets warmer. This was best demonstrated on 9/11 when all aircraft were grounded. Haven't got the figures to hand though.

Seriously, if next summer is going to be hot, now is really good time to buy air conditioners - just after the disappointing summer:thumbsup:

I work at B&Q and at our Decor department we have these for our own use and we've had nothing but problems with it. I was very close to buying one with my Staff discount but after seeing it in action for the past 3 months it quickly swayed my decisions. It kept leaking, refusing to work at times etc.

The 14k BTU ones are better but they're also £150.

hot thanks to global warming if we all turn the air con we buy from b&q :whistling:

Are these any good in the winter to remove moisture from the air and reduce condensation?

I bought one of these during the going-going-gone sale and I recommend them.

Keeps my conservatory very cool thanks!

Do you know if thes eheat as well as cool? After one for a conservatory that gets hot in summer and cold in winter.

Pretty sure it's got no heat option, just a humidifier.

blahblah

you will need to get a de-humidifier, i got one from argos and its great evan with lots of washing drying in the house still no moisture on windows.

No heat option but does DE-humdify ( I have one)

hope summer comes next year. ive had one of these in my shed and never even had to take it out this year as we never had a summer.
