B&Q Aland Extendable Wooden Garden Table £88 Clearance, Pair Matching Chairs £22

Hardwood table & 6 chairs for £154!

B&Q Newbury have the Blooma Aland Eucalyptus Garden Table reduced to £88. This is a large table, easily seating six un-extended, and you'll probably get 8-10 around it when it's extended.

It's also quite good looking, seems fairly sturdy, and is pre-treated with teak oil.

The matching chairs are £22 for a pair and have a nice locking mechanism.

I love anything that extends!

Had bad experience with b&q wooden garden stuff weathering poorly . needs to go inside in winter. seems like this could pack away easily though?

I have this set. The table is a bit lightweight and the top is starting to warp badly after 2 summers even though it is stored inside during winter. The chairs are weak - held together with wooden pegs and for this summer I have had to glue and screw the sides otherwise they wobbled side to side. I paid full price so not happy that this set needs work after such a short time.

cold for me. bought same deal from argos 2 months ago for 120 £ table+6 chairs.

just bought this set. absolute bargain for the price. table does not store easily and you would have to remove the base/legs.

might only last a couple of years but the price is awesome!

I understand that this isn't the best quality, in terms of either the timber or the construction, but for the price it is solid enough for it's intended purpose and the timber should be fine, as long as it is properly maintained and treated with teak oil. I'm more than happy with this set for the price.

This is clearance stock, so it will be wherever you can find it. There were plenty in the Newbury store and that's not a big warehouse.

We bought the table and six chairs from B&Q last summer, and it has been stored outside under a cover. It hasn't weathered well at all I'm afraid.

So, I would just use Teak oil to bring it back to life then? Is teak the colour, or a type of oil?

Cheers,

Teak oil is the type (it's actually linseed oil); you just apply a few coats with a cloth, letting each coat dry for a few hours and making sure you get into all the nooks and crannies. If the surface has got particularly bad, it might be worth giving it a light sand beforehand.

not hardwood... the hardwood option is on offer @ £177

The chairs are £28.

It is Eucalyptus, a hardwood. It was on offer at £177, in the Newbury store (and many others apparently) it was then further reduced to £88.

They were further reduced to £22 in-store.

YES! ITS AN EXTENDER! That really is the icing on the cake...

I saw this in our local B&Q last week. Quality looked good, and was a very handsome table for £88. If we'd wanted a new table, we would have jumped at the offer.

the aland model is not hardwood.. its been 88 quid for a while. the TEAK hardwood option is called Roscana and thats 177.

Also on offer is Teak table 177 + 2 teak chairs for 60. Total for Table and 6 chairs is 357

It is Eucalyptus, which is a hardwood. Granted, it's not Teak, but it's still a hardwood.
