and your brilliant suggestion would be???????

Good price, PC World/Currys are selling off 2450mAh Energizers for £3.97 for a pack of 4 AAs & £9.99 for the "family" charger - so this is a good price!

Hi have you got a link for the family charger?

Whereabouts in store did you guys find these? It's the sort of thing that they seem to dot around on the end of aisles - just wondering if it was with the main battery display at checkout, or somewhere else in the shop. Will have a quick look later when I'm in for something else but won't have much time to wander around.

There normally near the checkout

just bought 3 different packs from Stafford branch.got the 1 hour charger for £5. 4 AA Duracell batteries + charger for £3 and another energiser 2x AA and 2xAAA + charger for £3.would normally cost around the £50 mark all in all.

:)thanks watchmedeal:)

No clearance chargers left at Altrincham B&Q, but they did have 4 packets of 4xAA 2300mah Energizer rechargeable batteries for £3 each (which I bought). About £10 a pack elsewhere.

Ziltch in Swindon

TIP TIP TIP
I too found locating these difficult, but they were close to the tills. They show normal batteries on the front of the display, the rechargeable batteries are on the sides. I needed to move things to access them. They were clearly marked in dayglo stickers £5. BUT, beware some chargers are in-car chargers, so make sure you select the correct one. I chose a Duracell 1hr charging pack, there was another brand Energizer I think.

At the till, I was told £23 (or something similar) then drew her attention to the fact the display says £5. With my discount card it was £4.50.

Oh, it was Weymouth store

In response to fazzx - I don't have a link, but it was in PC World in the bargain bin @ the checkouts - Newtownabbey branch.

Found a link to the Currys store £9.97

Looks good I would almost buy it if I didn't already have the one I bought from Lidl!

Cheers!!:)

Plenty of stock in gravesend, Kent. Although i had to sort through the packets that had been ripped open... Also it looks foreign, certain words on the batteries and instructions, there primary languange isnt english like on the ones i brought previously

Original Poster

nah probs, glad they had some for ya

not in my local b and q kidderminster

Top spot, OP. I had the last ones out of the Warrington (Winwick) branch. They were by the tills on the normal battery display but tucked around the corner. The packages were rather dusty but otherwise fine. Just bought a new camera for my OH's birthday so these will be very useful.

The big Universal charger has seperate 12V power supply so, with a suitable adapter, this should be capable of running off a car's electrics. As could the portable USB chargers, of course.

They didn't have the 1 hour in Northwich.. they did have an "Accu recharge Quattro" including 4 x 2450mA for £5 which I bought.. based on it having 4 LED and reading the blurb it sounded like an intelligent charger but AND I HATE Energizer for not being clear about this - I don't think either this OR the 1 hour charger is 'intelligent'.. they are dumb timer chargers which are a false economy and not worth the £2 or whatever after value of batteries are deducted. Energizer mislead and fob people off this rubbish.. I'm an idiot for forgetting how sly they are... ACCU charger my ars e

Great find, The duracell traveller for £3 is a bargain. Next to the checkouts people!!

I paid £17 for this charger before christmas and use it daily, a very good charger. It can also charge up a single battery so you don't need to charge in pairs.

Lots of bits and pieces in Doncaster B&Q - they were on the very end of the checkouts, to the left of the main battery display, you'd really have to be looking to find them. Also the Duracell ones on the other side of the display.

nice find

had tons left when I went in nearly all the range, oddley though the slower charging 1300mAh were more expensive than the 2450mAh 1hour charging ones!

Cheres mate my local had 1 of the hr chargers left

they had a load of the travel ones too but tbh the 12hr+ charge time put me off
I did nearly pay £3 for one just for the 2AAa and 2 AA with it tho lol

Original Poster

glad you got one, shoulda grabbed a travel one too, it is a very good deal lol, but where do ya draw the line

you really can't reliably charge 2400mah batteries in 1hr without some very special equipment.
This charger is likely to become your worst nightmare.
If you really must charge your batteries this fast, at least use something like a MAHA charger that is actually capable of doing the job reasonably well, and fixing them when you've overstressed them!

I was just about to spend a fiver on AA's anyway, they're just for the Xbox Pads anyway
Nah the travel one said it took a daft amount of time to charge a battery

Original Poster

hahaha yeh ideal for xbox pads im sure plenty have and will be going that way lol.
