B&Q Replacement Christmas Light Bulbs - Free!

Found 11th Dec 2010
Went into the Chippenham B&Q today looking for replacement Christmas tree light bulbs. The person on the customer service desk produced two large boxes and said help yourself, they are free! All packs have a 'free of charge' label and bar code so maybe the same in other stores. The boxes were a complete jumble but I found what I wanted!

Lol, its hardly a deal, they are meant to be replacements for faulty bulbs if you produce your receipt. Sounds like you just got lucky.
someone posted this last year !!
I was the sales assistant and it was my last day, I also took a **** in one of the display toilets and rode around drunk on a ride on lawnmower until I crashed.

In my local B&Q (Scotland) too. Didn't ask for any receipts as I didn't buy the lights from them!
they wouldnt give me any free bulbs without a receipt last year the trout at the desk said it was due to health and safety crap......obviously didnt keep the receipt for a tree that was 2 years old
I was in B&Q today. We have a couple of sets of the red berry lights. We got them from B&Q a good few years ago and two years ago they were selling the replacement bulbs. Not so now....how frustrating....perfectly useable if only I could find suitable replacements. I asked a B&Q sales person and she said that they're giving little bags of bulbs out free. Unfortunately, even though I brought a duff bulb with me from the set that's not fully functioning, I didn't look closely enough and the connectors are wrong. I somehow doubt they will have the right ones....but at least I can confirm what our friends said at the top of this thread. I think that it's a bit of a ploy in most stores not to stock the spare bulbs. Get you to buy a new set perhaps? Damn this throwaway society!
