B&q slough was told it's national
It's not national. Your local store is merely clearing a pile of old turf prior to the new turf being delivered. It's not that uncommon but it's effectively the equivalent of turf approaching its best before date.
Bargain X)
New deliveries on a Wednesday in Huddersfield mean any stock is reduced on a Tuesday. Different stores may have different del days.

I have bought in the past with no problems.
its not a bargain if its not fresh,,,smell it you will soon understand, but leave it a couple of days and you can always feed it to the animals
It is national, was some in Cardiff, Merthyr & Pontypridd
Does Not come with any instructions
The Geese have been released....

This is not a national deal ppl.

Nothing wrong with it not being fresh. I bought some dying turf from B&M back in May and it's now growing better than the grass which was already on my lawn.
Has this been rolled out all over the UK?
My local Co-op sells the black bananas cheap too - doesn't make it a 'deal'!
Is this local? I need turf for my garden and was postponing as low on budget. Please advice as Watford is my local B&Q

Your best bet is to go to your local gardening centre and ask what day they get their turf delivered - you then turn up the day before in the hope that they might be clearing last week's turf at a reduced price. It's a gamble.

Or get a spade and head for the local park/bowling green/golf course. Best go at night though......

I purchased some turf at 50p a few years back and left it piled for a week before I laid it, the following summer it came up perfectly. Just needs to be watered regularly and eventually it will renew. I had plenty of people smirk at my 'patchwork' lawn when it was first laid, I had the last laugh!

Not everybody has your kind of knack!
Recently created a lawn and found B&Q to be a lot more expensive than my local garden centre which supplied locally cut turf. Yes it is cheap if you need to patch but can't see its worth the effort laying what's effectively clearly past the date turf.

Does turf really have an expiry date? If it doesn't look too bad, it will repair itself once it has been laid, fed and watered. But if it's totally shot to bits, then yes, best place it in the compost pile!
good price ...i may have a mooch and see if they have it locally
Stupid post. Most b&q outlets get rid of this stuff everyday. It's like posting tesco daily, near out of date stuff.
Don't like the b and q turf I got, the grass is pretty broad leaved and compared particularly poorly to the seed I used to overseed it to fill in the bits that had died before it got laid, which is lovely and fine.
