B&Q will match Homebase 20% weekend offer

Earlier this week Homebase announced they plan to have a 20% off all items in store all weekend (11-13th June). Details and voucher here:

hotukdeals.com/ite…13t

I remembered this deal I used to get a few presents before Christmas where B&Q pricematched and gave a further 10% off:

hotukdeals.com/ite…-se

So I called my local B&Q and was advised that they probably would honour this however they hadn't released their weekend deals as yet. I was advised that evidence of the item would be required.

I then asked if all items are 20% in store at Homebase then surely a printout of the website will be enough? I was told yes that would be enough.

So over this weekend you could play the big two off against each other to get a filthy deal. B&Q may gazump it with a 20% of their own however you could still get a bargain by finding an item at Homebase that's reduced, apply the 20% and then go to B&Q and get them to match plus 10%.

Thanks for the heads up.

Is it me or are B&Q/Homebase having 15%/20% off deals nearly every weekend now?

Probably just brings their prices down to a decent level.

Totally agree! They had to change their returns policy from 90 days because of this - deny it but that's why. You could buy something one week in one of their many many sales and take it back without a receipt 2 months later for 50% min profit. You could also buy from i.e. Homebase and return to B&Q without receipt and get the higher price at B&Q. Rip off's - should just reduce prices and stop playing rip off games with 3 for 2 offers. B&Q up the prices on i.e. Bosch tools and then do 3 for 2. Just stop the scams.
Also B&Q now doing special Trade centre...... thought they already existed but were called Screwfix!

p.s. B&Q have matched Homebase (including specials) for ages PLUS 10% extra. So therefore no heat given as not a new deal.

its a joke in there anyway these places make money only becasue when your doing a job u want the stuff there and then so pay their premiums.....

Granted its not a new deal, however many using the Homebase voucher who are either new to the site or not versed in the policy of B&Q will not know that they could exploit the deal. Hence why I started the thread.

Fair comment but not voted either way.

It would appear Homebase upped their prices by 20%, sneeky.

Even more of a reason to think of playing them off one another.

I want to purchase a garden furniture set, you cant buy it instore but you can go in to order it, would I be entitled to the 20% off too as that would definately swing it for me. I nearly bought it yesterday too.

anyone know if B&Q are definitely honouring the price match this time
And do you have to match an exact item that homebase are selling (ie I guess they wont just match 20% off everything in store)

I made a purchase today with this voucher and I was asked where I had got it from, I was told it's a friends and family voucher only I told them I got it in an email. No problems using it but i would have been better prepared if I had known if was a friends and family voucher.
