Yes it's sad how football has gone, but those older ones out there will … Yes it's sad how football has gone, but those older ones out there will remember when our top division were almost the poor relations, and it was the big money Italian teams who ruled Europe (Yes I do remember the bin dippers and mancs had a couple of European cup wins, but most of our teams struggled).(Ask an Arsenal fan how it feels to travel around Europe but never win !)

What a bizarre post, do you know football existed before 1992?!!

English teams used to win the European cup for fun in the days of cheap tickets.
Liverpool, Forest & Villa won it 7 years out of 9 in the 70s & 80s.

On the other hand you quote Arsenal as never winning it...they currently have the most expensive season tickets in England, so on your logic, they should be winning it every year lol!

thought it was first 15k havent they sold even 15k?

Precisely.

Dont mind Huddersfield; their ground is the template for more successful sides in Wigan - identical and Bolton.

It also, for a large town, has a huge catchment area of Kirklees/ Calderdale and even Wakefield. In fact, Bradford has a sizeable number of Town fans from the Parl Avenue days when they went bust.

Both also huge Rugby League towns and Bradford Bulls dominated until only a decade ago.

Well apart from those who follow Premiership teams that is. Well done to both Bradford and Huddersfield either way; we often hear about how the ordinary fan is being priced out of football, it's good to see clubs at lower levels are doing something about it.

"Well apart from those who follow Premiership teams that is.", living in Leicester, I think you would be wise to make the distinction between the Man U/C, Arsenal, Chelsea, and the rest of the Premier league. Most other PL teams are still mostly based on local support.

the fa own wembley, what sense would it makr to spend more money letting out another ground?

Look at the average attendance of those club and then find a stadium that can hold that amount of people, having the play offs and all those minor cup competitions and semi finals at Wembley is taking away the special feeling of reaching the cup finals , Wigan yesterday won the FA cup and what A story that is but it would have been allot better if it was their first ever trip to Wembley which it should have been, I have no problem with playing the playoffs at big stadiums like old Trafford but Wembley should be sacred. There has been A huge change in the atmosphere of England internationals since they started having something at Wembley every week, if you kept Wembley for cup finals, Internationals and for the biggest concerts it would have that special feeling back, but where's the justice in the teams finishing 3rd to 6th in the championship and league 1, 4th-7th in League 2 and even worse, 2nd-5th in the conference getting A day at Wembley? We might aswell bring in A playoff like they have in Holland for A place in Europe, 4th-7th in the premiership could play off for A chance to play in the champions league at Wembley just to take all the meaning out of Bayern Munich and Dortmund qualifying and progressing through all the rounds of the Champions league for their chance to play at Wembley.

they should play them at neutral venue which is an equal distance from each team playing, and at a venue suitable for the amount of ticket sales...when man city got to div 2 (third tier) play off final they would have been pleased to travel to ground with a smaller capacity than maine road...I'm sure craven cottage could be suitable if it is was two small london teams (like daggers and hammers!!)

Very tempted.hot

Alternatively the same pricing structure applies to go in our end. :-) … Alternatively the same pricing structure applies to go in our end. :-) Theres no way the league 2 play off should be at craven cottage this year, maybe it should all depend on who is playing, this year Bradford and us have already sold over 40k which should reach 50k, that rules out most grounds. As a fan I'm glad it's at Wembley, great day out and still an iconic place.

Just to correct your ill-informed post, the average league 2 footballer earns little more than the average office worker these days. however should the initiative become a success and the capacity near full on matchdays (20,yes,20,000 capacity!). we'd be competing with the likes of Charlton, Forest, Leicester, bleeds, puppies which in turn could push the club towards the championship, where the financial or 'monetary' gain is quite substantial.

wii expert;3772377

crazy talk! if we sell 13000 season tickets for £100 each that is £1.3m, … crazy talk! if we sell 13000 season tickets for £100 each that is £1.3m, you then get 13000 people in the ground who may buy food, merchadise and programmes, policing costs are very low for a bradford game i assume (league 2 teams dont travel well), how can 3000 people paying £15 a game be better for the club than 13000 people at every game and cash in the bank? we dont have the fan base to compete with leeds, (although IMO we are a bigger team than colchester) and we are in a better position now , financially, than when we were in the old division 1 (championship).thanks for the good luck though!

Your club keep on reudcing ticketing prices substantially lower than comparative clubs you will struggle, and with the credit crunch bitting there is not a lot of money to spend on luxuries like season tickets let alone food and drink at the ground. it costs a lot of money to run a stadium on matchdays if you include Policing costs , Stewarding staff (who get paid quite tidily,) Food outlet staff, medical staff, club shop staff, security staff, turnstile staff and other key personel not to mention electricity bills and such, not crazy talk at all. Even my club struggle somewhat for the rising costs and our attendances are not as high as we would have expected even though we are in the championship. Clubs do struggle to break even and if you keep reducing prices its a problem i hope the gamble pays off for your club but its a huge montary risk.

Voting Cold on this because you don't like Bradford is just childish, the posts are about how good the deal is.

12000 "sold" according to Mr Flamingo Land. It'll be interesting how many actually turn up to the matches though.

However, from what I've heard once you buy a ST for Sadford you are counted in the attendance even if you don't turn up! So no doubt they'll be loads of chickens mouthing off about what big crowds they are getting during the season to anyone who'll listen.

Could get nearly three of these for the price of my Southampton one... funnily enough, I'm not tempted to exchange though!!!
