AVOID, this item only charges usb-c at 1.3A, AVOID as it becomes a fire hazard when most devices will try to pull more and usb C plugs often provide a much higher amperage unless cheap power bank. Likely to burn when used with a mobile phone pulling 2.1A or more, worst case cause a fire
Guys I'd be very careful with this cable as adherence to the spec can't be vouched for. home.bt.com/tec…648
1.3 amp and no mention of 56k pull up resistor means this cable does not meet the spec of USB-C and therefore should not be used. The CHOETECH ones on Amazon are approved by Benson Leung at Google and are 2 for £4. You are far better off purchasing something like that. At best this will charge your device slower than it supports (these definitely won't support fast charge) and, at worst it can cook it.

It's foolish to plug 50p cables into your devices that costs hundreds. There's a time to be tight and not spend much and this isn't it. Let's face it, you're probably plugging this into a device that costs several hundred bucks.

Any info on this retailer? Never heard of them before. I see they are based in HK with a UK address in Hemel Hempstead
"I've grabbed for a spare for my eldests phone" surely you mean latest phone? As usb-c connections on mobiles is more recent!

They mean they got one for their eldest child to use on their phone
Had some of these cables. First one I plugged in made my phone reboot. They went in the bin, Google issues with cheap type c cables for more details.

I think I will avoid, don't want no dodgy cable catching fire at night while my phone charges!
Have yet to receive my many orders from zapals... from december....

This is very true, especially with fast chargers becoming more and more common. You need a cable with 2.1A rating minimum for safety with most of the latest charging plugs. I mean, you *can* use a 1.3A rated cable but you'll either find the phone charges slower as it can't pull enough ampage or the wire gets very hot as it exceeds it's tolerance.

Apart from being several times too long for that, but yeah otherwise you're exactly correct.
Might not matter to those buying this as a spare, but note that the maximum power this cable can carry is 1.3A. That's not exactly going to fast-charge any smartphones....

Just for balance, Ive ordered several times from Zapals, every item has arrived quickly and worked perfectly, including USB cables.

Agreed! Literally any decent review site has no more (mostly less) than 3 stars out of 5 with decent amounts of reviews.
