I think this is a very good price considering it is not a Dual Core Celeron.

It looks like my old Travelmate. Nothing makes it stand out. 2gb ram average, standard specs for over 300. Worth its money but not really a bargain so voting cold. Unless something they are not saying.

Well it is a very good spec for money and in my eyes, looks one of the best £350 ish laptops I have seen, so elegant and stylish, IMO... :whistling:

A link maybe handy mate, if you can link a similar spec to this at around the £315 mark brand new with a free Windows 7 Upgrade Offer, I will be happy.

Looks a good offer to me...

Where does it say "today only", and "free windows 7 upgrade"??

Plus it's £331.07, not £316.25?

TODAY ONLY: Go to a link at the top which says today only on homepage. Or press CTRL + F and search, "Today Only." If you can't find it.

Are you sure it's a FREE upgrade, as the link doesn't say it's free? And how do I know this laptop qualifies?

"1 Terms and conditions vary. Additional ordering, shipping, handling or other fees may apply based on the local region/country."

You will be charged when the upgrade kit is ready to ship. Please make sure your credit card is valid. The order will be put on hold if the card is invalid.

Charge maybe £44? Same price as in the shops on pre-order (with no upgrade requirements).

It's an Acer! It's from Scan! Cost £6.99 delivery! LOL

I just went through Acer's Windows 7 upgrade ordering website and estimated handling and shipping fee per piece: £12.78

All well and good, but this is Dual Core, which is slightly old technology compared to Core2Duo. For the £316 surely you can easily get Core2Duo...Things like RAM, HDD are upgradeable in the laptop besides the Processor generally, so why not invest wisely in a good Processor.

But for someonewho is not fussed about the DualCore Processor it is a good find.

Please do some basic research before spouting rubbish.

The T4200 is a Penryn-based 45nm chip. It runs at 2GHz, has an 800MHz FSB and 1MB L2 cache - it is for all intents and purposes a Core2Duo but without the nomenclature. It's effectively a T8100 with less cache and no VT-x.

You're confusing with the early Core Duo which was rebranded as the Pentium Dual which didn't have 64-bit extensions. Think of Pentium Dual Core now as last year's Core2Duo.

As ever with Intel the name they use often hides the processor - as someone once told me, a Celeron is simply last year's Pentium.
