Got one last week from there, good little tablet for the money

Do you know if it is the one without 'special offers' (i.e. no adverts)?

it's with offers, you can pay £10 to remove them

I don't understand.

Just sign up for a free Prime trial and benefit from the prime day deals on the newer, cheaper models at Amazon.

Even in itself this deal is only showing a £3 discount.

Cold!

Amazon don't make a 6" HD tablet anymore, smallest is now 8".

you're comparing apples with pears

6", for a start

and then, this'll be here tomorrow @£39.50 when the 16GB tablet from Amazon will be £59.99 again

It's £39.99 direct from Amazon brand new for the prime day deals, you also get a choice of various colours
I don't see why this is a good deal?

Fire 7 is 7" screen, 8gb is 29.99 on Amazon today but easily rectified with a large micro sd card

solid

Smallest amazon tablet is 7"

Yup, smallest HD tablet is 8". So, this is a deal for people who want a smaller HD tablet

No.

The smallest is 7" and it's updated, better and cheaper on Amazon right now.

I'm sorry but this is no kind of deal at all. All you have to do is take a prime trial out.

your logic breaks down 1 minute after midnight, feller

and this deal will still be here, £20 cheaper than Amazon

So we've gone from 'it's slightly smaller' to 'it'll be a good deal tomorrow' (if you want older tech slightly cheaper).

OK.

Oh and it will only be £10 cheaper if you go for the 8gb, which is all you might need with expandable memory option. Not £20. And older. And smaller.
I don;t care either way - I just bought one from amazon - but would hate to steer anybody else the wrong way just for the sake of getting heat. Madness imo.

it's all always been true:

good deal in itself
6" ain't 7" or 8" - maybe somebody wants a 6" tablet
the technology is similar to later versions & completely up-to-date
price is £39.50 whereas Amazon price for 16GB will be £59.99 tomorrow
no need to pay through the nose for Prime to get this deal

The mistake Amazon made with this is in not adding a MicroSD card slot, which limits it's use.

No need to pay anything for prime, you can get a free trial, as has already been mentioned. Why do you continue to mislead people?

The 6" thing was not mentioned until the deal was critiqued. I can't imagine many people would trade newer and cheaper for ever so slightly smaller, but maybe??

Plus extra inch = potentially much better for most. And currently the same price, or £10 cheaper for the 8gb version.

As long as people viewing this deal are aware, that's fine. They can choose.

Good Day, sir.

@reddit The new one has an SD card slot....

Exactly, I wanted the 6" for use as a dedicated Sonos controller, I have a 7" version too. Both are on the same software and the screen is way better on the 6.

The 7" version isn't HD though, the smallest HD version is 8", I think thats what he/she meant by the smallest HD version.
The difference is a sharper screen on the HD model
1024 x 600 (171 ppi) vs 1280 x 800 (189 ppi)
The HD version also has other advantages such as Doby atmos sound instead of a mono speaker (although most people wont' be bothered)

6 inches doesn't even touch the sides!

Yeah that's what I meant. The Fire HD6 is 252 PPI
