Now before everyone freezes this deal, I know there is a new iPhone being announced on the 9th of September and I also know there are other faster or more ram, or more flexible etc. etc. cheaper phones out there but if like me you are looking for a new iPhone 6 this seems a great deal. £60 cheaper than the Apple store.

If you can find it cheaper then please let me know! Thanks!

16Gb: £479
64Gb: £579
128Gb: £649

The price is likely to plummet after the 9th of September

I don't see the appeal. What is so good about IPhones to lesser priced smartphones?

Agreed as I have mentioned in the post, however it usually drops by £80 off the apple store price and can be hard to get, so if you are wanting one now rather than waiting it's the best I could find!

Horses for courses really, I like how simple it is and the fact it never seems to have issues, but yes it is expensive for the hardware.

It depends on whether they keep the model you want. For instance they may well only offer the 16gb version of this one going forward. (64gb 5s was dropped last time round)

Annnnnnd the iphone 5s is still £459, so those holding our for a massive drop might be dissapointed.

I love my iphone but this was £540 unlocked at launch nearly a YEAR ago, saving £60 on what I assume is a year old locked phone isn't enough for me. I'll be getting the new iphone probably, I love Iphones. They deserve their high price but no way i'd pay this with about 10 days until the new one is announced.

If this was IPhone 6 plus 64gb unlocked gold for £400 I would've but it

Giff gaff phones are unlocked

This is a brad new phone, and as a45hiq says they are unlocked. The iPhone 5s is still 3$59, so can't imagine the 6 will drop to much lower than that.

I know its brand new, when I said year old I meant it was released a year ago. Technically its a good deal I guess as they aren't cheaper elsewhere. However its kind of a grey area, who in their right mind wouldn't wait ten days to see if/when/how the new iphone pairs up? The new iphone could be £500 or £520 at launch for all we know, but even if its £540 there is no way i'd be happy knowing i could have got the brand new one with all the new shiney features(i hope) for £40 or £60 more.

HE hasn't had issues. I switch from Android to iOS regularly, I like both for different reasons. However, iPhones are the only phones which I didn't have to constantly RMA. Samsung S5 was in repair every other month, my Nexus 4 would overheat so much that the screen would stop working and my current Nexus 6, while amazing in its features and capabilities, has so many issues that I'm selling it now and waiting for the new iPhones.

Yes having ow. HTC one and then a iphone I much to iPhone in every way u

But the one thing I hate is the memory 16g is not enough 32 would have been better for the base model

Smartfonestore do brand new boxed iPhone 6's for a few bob cheaper if you want one. e.g An unlocked 16gb iPhone 6 for £469.99.

Personally, for similar sort of money id recommend waiting for the new iPhone or get the S6 64gb. That's the non edge one, don't make the mistake I did, its **** and not worth the money.

You will be able to buy a used 16gb off ebay or gumtree for around £360 when the new iPhones come out.

Lol would avoid them, they aren't part owned with Dixons anymore. Everything comes from abroad and you have to pay returns yourself which is £££

A saving no matter how little be it 1p or £100 is still a deal to me!

Pixmania reviews Poor 3.9
uk.trustpilot.com/rev….uk

A slightly lower price on an already massively overpriced item is still overpriced. Cold from me sorry. When you can get excellent android phones for miles less money it just makes no sense whatsoever to be spending cash like this on a year old phone. Each to their own and all that but when people are willing to keep shelling out crazy cash for less of a device then they will just keep overcharging.

I couldn't believe how poor the specs are on these iPhones compared to the other Android phones out there (Including the cheap flagships!)

CPU is Dual Core running at 1.4Ghz compared to say Snapdragons octa-core CPU running at 2Ghz overclocked.

1.2MP front facing camera (LOL)

1GB DDR3 compared to OnePlus Twos 4GB DDR4 RAM.

I could go on, but i guess it does show how well refined iOS can be in certain areas to be able to handle these poor specs. But still, £479 is a joke... Just capitalism in action!

iPhone phones are great... Done let anyone say anything else .. £540 for iPhone and after 2 years is worth about £250 minimum. Android phone e.g Samsung S6 £600 and after 2 years is worth £60.

This deal still active?

Personally I'd rather buy from Apple Store, but from them and if anything goes wrong with it they replace without issue, I had an issue with my 5 which was bought direct and it was replaced even though it was 22 months old.

Banned

Please don't touch this O2/GiffGaff are just trying to get rid of stock. New iPhones on September 9th. NOT A DEAL.

Hmmmm I'm not sure you know... i think I prefer the Honda Civic (_;)

It's Over Priced yes, but spec sheets don't tell the whole story.

For example...

It's a 1.4ghrz Dual core, but it's Single Core performance is 1600 vs the 1000 of the Snapdragons so when it comes to the multicore score, they're the same. Most apps aren't multi-threaded well at all, so single core performance ends up being more important. Also most Snapdragon chips get throttled to ****, the 810 advertises 2ghrz, but after about 10 seconds, it's down to 900mhz permanently . You'll never hit that 2ghrz because of thermal reasons, while the iPhone will always sit around it's advertised speed as it doesn't produce much heat.

There is a lot more to go into, but it's not all about looking at a spec sheet to see which one is better. Android still uses OpenGL, while Apple use their own low level API, so even if an Android GPU was more powerful, the iPhone will be far better due to a more efficient API.... though the iPhones always have top GPUs.

As for the camera, yes it might be 8mp, but you have a pixel pitch of 1.5, while the others have 1.12, which means the iPhone has better dynamic range and low light performance. Again the 6s has a 12mp camera, but it's using RGBW, instead of RGB and that increases low light performance, allows them to decrease pixel size and increase the MP count. On top of that Apple have the best imaging processing, only second to Nokia who don't make Smartphones any more.

HUKD deals so it's maths.
Can you provide any evidence other than blind brand loyalty to back up your figures? Do you actually know that the S6 (launched 2015 IIRC) is worth £60 after two years?

Personally I get my iPhones free through work as a company phone but buy Android as my own phone out of personal choice so I know which I prefer. I like to think of iPhones as a fashion thing for the herd as much as anything else.

Anyway, back to the deal, if it's the best iPhone deal out there then it's hot.

Wow sheep are ready to pay anything. If poo have an apple logo on it. I'm really sure sheep pay any price for it. People who pay £479 for an iPhone 6 these day said enough. Stupid never cease to amaze me.

Heat added. Yes we know there are new iPhones round the corner, thats why GifGaf have reduced them, and that is what makes it a deal. What the OP is saying is unless there is a better deal now for this specific phone then this is a good deal. Yes we know a Samsung whatever might be cheaper, but if someone prefers and iPhone then so be it. If someone wants a BMW over a cheaper Ford Mondeo and the Mondeo is faster with more features it doesn't stop someone wanting the BMW. So if someone wants an iPhone over a Samsung then thats also fine! (I don't like BMWs but I do have an iPhone, but I can equally see why someone wants a BMW and why someone wants a Samsung, so long as the owner is happy with what they have then there is no need to be an iphone hater, or a Samsung hater!)
